Cleaning fee was included in the rent and NO cleaning was provided for 5 days , when enquired owner said it’s only for 7 days, we had to spend quiet some time for cleaning everyday which took time and fun off our trip, and on top owner ended up complaining about us not cleaning the place (a first in my 18 yrs of travel) which left a very sour taste at the end of the visit , this is my worst experience with bookings.com in the last 15 odd years with you , the taxi that was supposed to pick us from airport was never there , and kept calling me after we reached the apartment , the owner of the apartment took the room rent 2 days prior to our travel when bookings.com told me its payment on check in - this owner is definitely par par below the standard expected from bookings

Location was good

keys were fiddly and awkward, the shower was weak, no hot water during load shedding, very difficult to leave property during load shedding ie no lifts , electric gates didn’t work

Self catering, the location is ideal as it was within walking distance of the V&A and many local facilities.

The modern/updated/maintained interiors & appliances/facilities/ammenities. Safe surroundings & building itself. Ease of access to major sightseeing places in Cape town, specially for first timers like us. Close-by grocery store was a plus. Lot of natural light with a good view of lion head. Good (paid) parking space.

- One light (maybe the one over the dining table) can be connected to power backup as load shedding is a regular event in the country. Even though so many candles were available, it was not very comfortable. But maybe its just us saying/suggesting, it may not be practically possible.

The location was good and the bed was comfortable!

Pillows were awful! Like bricks and solid! We struggled to get in and the owner was very rude!

The fact that additional costs i.e. cleaning & parking weren't divulged upfront. And, the keysafes for the house and the garage were tucked away down in a dark, cramped gas bottle storage alcove in the wall outside the property. Very difficult for older persons who have to crawl on the cold bacony - and especially if they need glasses and don't have long fingernails!
