BeachPoint Cottages

Great place, awesome location.

The property was conveniently located to the beach access and Main Street in town. Well equipped with beach gear and eclectic environment.

The thermostat was remotely controlled and unable to set the temperature to our liking, which at this price point is unacceptable. The property manager/owner chose hammering construction and using a power saw to cut trees behind our cottage at 8 PM knowing we were in the unit. My wife kindly asked him to stop which he complied. Then our thermostat became unadjustable for the remainder of our stay. No air conditioning during the entire day but would randomly turn on to 69 at 10pm leaving us freezing through the night. He did give us an extra hour to check out though.

Location doesn’t get better. Wouldn’t want to stay in any other area of SK. They have bikes available which were fun to use. The friendly staff was nearby to help adjust my seat. They also have rolling beach carts with fat tires to load their beach chairs/umbrellas and towels. The beach access is just across the street. Pictures don’t do justice of the property and how cute it is. The lighting is magical at night. Cottage #5 was large and a nice place to hang out.

Was mentioned that paddle boards would be available. I texted the number and they didn’t get replacements from the storm yet. Would’ve been nice to know that prior.

We did not like the dated cabin rustic feel of room, musty smell and subsequent runny nose and swollen glands, difficulty operating thermostats that were not coordinated, cold living room, 3 inch step down into bathroom, non aesthetic rooms, trip hazard rugs, uncomfortable bed. This room was not pictured in the online photos. We asked to be moved to another room if available. The owner did not respond about that or the health concerns, only the thermostat, which was never resolved. We would like to be refunded for the 2nd night we paid for.

The location and tropical landscape

The atmosphere is amazing. While walking my dog I had the chance to explore the neighborhood and this place stands out in the best possible way. I guess it depends on your style and what you're looking for but, for a beach town I think having a colorful, bohemian place like this adds a whole new vibe to your trip. Every day we found a new decoration accent and it was just very pleasing to be here.
