Half Moon Hollow Eco Cottage

This is a very unique stay. A little hand built "hobbit" home, tucked away in a green valley. This house is a testament to great engineering and art combining into something very special. The word "magical" comes to mind the moment one takes it in. The sounds of birds, frogs and soft rain kept us company during the night. One lies in bed and looks through the oddly circular window, straight into the thick green carpet of undergrowth. Maybe spotting a spider weaving a web. All while the outside fauna is luring for a piece of all this by crawling into spaces between roof and wall, bringing the nature even closer inside.

Be prepared to experience your "call of nature" in a more unconventional way. Not a "negative" more as a warning to those fussy about having flushing toilets. Given the delicate setting of this cottage, the bucket toilet works at it should in preserving the ecosystem.

We completely fell inlove with this Cabin. The nature, architecture and complete quietness- absolutely amazing.

Quietness, sounds of the birds and being off the grid. What felt like a break from society.

Toilet facility was very unpleasant and was not disclosed. It was not comfortable either. Poor design of the shower the water wasn't running away. Spiders and spiderweb on the roof of main bedroom. Couldn't walk due to snakes.

A different experience to the usual hotel/airbnb. Excellent communication from the host who took us through everything we needed to know about the cottage. Lots of wood provided for the BBQ. Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would happily visit again if in the area.

Road to the cottage is a little rough, might be worth the host noting this in the description. We still made it fine without a 4x4. Description mentions a toaster but we didn't find one.
