Fairfarren

The location within the wildlife park was excellent. It was only a short walk to one of the dams where a wide variety of bird and animal life could be observed. The location was also perfect as a base to explore Kruger National Park, which is less than 1 hours drive away. Spending time within the property was a pleasure. It was unfenced, which meant that we were treated to regular visits from warthogs, dwarf mongoose, several species of antelope and abundant birdlife. The decor was plain yet perfectly functional. All of the rooms were large and spacious. The kitchen was well appointed. The property was designed for outdoor living with extensive dining space, nice pool, braai area and decking areas for relaxing. it was just lovely being able to sit in the comfort of the stoup soak in the atmosphere and observe the amazing wildlife. We would definitely return. The hosts were very attentive and quickly dealt with anything issue we raised.

It is a very minor point but the interior decor was plain. I think it could be improved by including more examples of the local arts and craft which is available in the town of Hoedspruit.

Fairfarren is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The house is lovely with a beautiful patio, braai area and fire pit. Its lovely to have kudu walking through the property, and the resident bushbuck and bush baby are a treat.

While Fairfarren is set in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, and has wild animals running around, please don't expect peace and tranquility. This is very much a well occupied residential estate. We were soon treated to barking dogs from two of the neigbouring houses, with one dog barking all day (obviously locked inside while the owners where at work).
