Oak Lane Cottages

We wanted to report a broken glass and night light immediately after our stay, but we have been trying for 4 days to reach Oak Lane via the number they provided in our booking.

Lovely location. Really enjoyed the dam and canoe. Beautiful and quite. simple and rustic accommodation and good value.

Peaceful, private, beautiful and very pleasant staff

Can't lower your braai grid. Geyser didn't heat up on first night, but was fixed in 2 minutes. Could give more than one dish towel.

The location is perfect and peaceful. The chalet was exactly what we expected and had everything that we needed. We will be back.

Kitchen utensils were tired. Bigger pot to cook indoors would be useful. We ran out of gas twice, once in kitchen and then in bathroom. When there for more than 2 days additional dish cloth would be nice. Bathroom light bulb was flashing on last night, couldn't use bathroom light.

Beautifully situated on picturesque farm, under the Oak trees, our stay was tranquil, away from the hustle and bustle of holiday makers. Just off the main road, it was easily accessible and within an hour's drive of most of Cape town. We loved the farm style holiday, cycling, swimming in the dam and just the quietness of the place. The hosts were great and friendly and helpful, communicated well and always willing to help where they can.

We stayed longer than the average I suspect, so storage space, kitchen and bedroom, was a bit limited. Single bathroom in old cottage was a bit challenging for the 5 people, but there was a more modern outside shower and WC as well for when the need arose. It was quite hot at night, and some days, so a fixed fan or 2 would be great assets.

the only good thing was the lady that met us there "Princess" the place was clean but the place needs a complete revamp

the furniture for outside is not worth mentioning, the microwave didn't work, the bed is terrible and there isn't even a fan in the room and it was very hot
