Das Loft

The place was really Spacious and modern with a fully fitted kitchen.

There was no iron, however when we called and requested it, we were helped immediately.

We really enjoyed our stay at Das Loft. It was like being at home, away from home, but only with a view of the beach. It was comfy and clean. We loved that the loft is located about 2-3 minutes away from restaurants, the beach, little gift shops, and coffee shops. Everything was within walking distance.

The only downside was that we weren't able to sit on the terrace during the day because the umbrella was broken, and it was very sunny and hot throughout the day. Before our visit, I was really looking forward to spending most of the day on the terrace, admiring the view. So that was a little disappointing. But we still enjoyed it nonetheless. The other minor downside was the on-street parking. We were a bit concerned about the safety and security of our car. But thankfully, it was safe throughout our stay.

The actual place is beautiful, perfect for couples and friends, particularly being able to sit out the back, although it only gets the sun in the morning/afternoon. Bigger than it actually looks in the photos, the kitchen, bathroom and main living space is very comfortable and high quality.

So I had to pay a deposit on arrival, not particularly common but sure. However, what I not expect is that I had to spend over 2 weeks trying to chase up and get my deposit back. Nothing was wrong or taken off, but they either delayed on purpose, thinking I was going home overseas (I live here) or through incompetence. If I'm good enough to pay a deposit, I do not want to have to make WhatsApps and phone calls to get my money back. So be very aware of this. Also, there were minor issues with check-in as I didn't receive a WhatsApp intro message which threw things into disarray, and apparently there was an alarm that I couldn't tell if it was on or off, turns out it was broke, so despite being met by someone, check-in was unnecessarily difficult. All in all, it's a great property but incidentally, badly managed.

There was no real braai facilities. Only a gas braai. Not good enough. Very nice place but we will not use it again because all South Africans like to braai properly with wood when on vacation. Gas braai not so good ....
