The view

We were very grateful for the lovely bottle of white wine and the bottle of water we found in the fridge on arrival. The location was close to good restaurants, bars, cafes & the beach. The TV was great and we could log in to our own Apple TV account when we wanted to watch it. The internet was good and we really liked the little coffee machine in the kitchen. There was a lovely view of the sea. Luz is a lovely seaside town ideal for families.

This apartment disappointed us as guests because we found it to be in need of some cleaning and refurbishment. While the décor is very beautiful, it is rather tired and in need of attention. The couch and armchair in the living room are very badly stained. When we arrived in the apartment we found that there were ants crawling around the blankets that covered the couch so we lifted the blankets to shake the ants off outside and saw that the couch needed to be cleaned or replaced. The bed covers and pillows were old and in need of being replaced also. The lady who came to the apartment to show us around could not understand why we didn’t like old, shabby quilt covers and pillow cases that looked like they should be thrown out. Although the double bed was comfortable enough, the single beds were not. But it is not pleasant to sleep in bedding that is of such a basic standard. There was a constant bad odour from the drains in the main bathroom. The outdoor furniture cushions were also quite neglected and somewhat smelly. Although the patio was a big part of the attraction of the apartment, it didn’t quite live up to the photos. The canopy didn’t work properly, the BBQ was badly in need of a good cleaning and the air conditioning unit was leaking water creating puddles that made the patio dangerously slippy. Some of the kitchen utensils really need to be replaced as they are damaged and rusty. I would not stay in this apartment again nor would I recommend it to any of my friends or family.

Die Wohnung ist in einem großen Gebäude, welches von außen nicht viel her macht, aber die Wohnung ist sehr schön und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Hauptschlafzimmer ist sehr geräumig und hat ein eigenes Bad (Dusche und Waschbecken, kein WC!) Das Kinderschlafzimmer ist auch sehr schön eingerichtet. Unseren Teenagern hats gefallen. Der Wohn-Essbereich ist gemütlich und man hat von drinnen und von der riesigen Dachterrasse einen wunderschönen Blick über Luz und den Atlantik. Wir haben es sehr genossen draußen zu sitzen und aufs Meer zu schauen. Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet. Wir haben mehrfach abends gekocht und haben nichts vermisst. Insgesamt war die Wohnung sehr gut ausgestattet. Es gab genug Haken um nasse Handtücher aufzuhängen, Einkaufstaschen, Wäscheständer, Kühlbox usw. Wir haben nicht alles benutzt, aber es stand zur Verfügung! Der Vermieter und seine lokale Partnerin haben innerhalb weniger Minuten geantwortet als wir eine Frage hatten und waren sehr bemüht, dass wir rundum zufrieden sind. Die Lage der Wohnung ist sehr gut. Der Supermarkt ist direkt nebenan. Zum Stand und zu vielen schönen Restaurants kann man laufen. Luz hat uns insgesamt gut gefallen, weil es etwas ruhiger war als z.B. Lagos.

Für unseren Geschmack waren die Kissen zu hart/kompakt. Die Betten der Kinder waren sehr hart. Wenn man erst spät am Nachmittag nach Hause kommt, kann die Parkplatzsuche etwas anstrengend sein. Direkt am Haus war dann meist nichts frei. Es gibt aber einen großen Schotterparkplatz in der Nähe den wir dann benutzt haben.

Mieszkanie duże dobrze wyposażone. Jednak najważniejsze to taras, taras i jeszcze raz taras - duży świetnie urządzony i z widokiem na ocean w całej rozciągłości. Czekało na nas wino, woda i butelka coli dla dzieci. Dziękujemy! To był dowód na świetną empatię właścicieli.

The apartment is perfectly equipped with everything you need to feel comfortable. Beach, bars and restaurants are all very close. The host takes good care of everything.

So much to like about this property! Incredible location, and what a view… Beautiful comfortable beds, and incredibly well appointed. Also brilliant communications from the owners, which makes such a difference. We only wish we’d been able to stay longer.
