Waggi Mountain Escape

We meet a staff member at Bellevue forest reserve who took us to the cottage and showed as the amenities, leaving us with the keys. We were reassured about security and safety in walking on the property. It was a superb site, we were on our own and had good views of the hillsides and game, - so much to see. Most exciting were the giraffes, also bellboy, zebra, impale, nyala, springbok & eland - more than we could wish for. Also, we were close enough to Addo to spend good time there.

I don't think it could have been better. the walking with giraffes was a once in a lifetime experience and as we could see where the giraffes were from our cottage, the guide was able to take us there for this amazing experience.

Die Lage

Das Haus war komplett feucht und der Putz platzt großflächig von den Wänden. Der Backofen und Herd funktioniert nicht, es gibt nur eine Induktions-Herdplatte. Die Ausstattung der Terrasse erinnert eher an improvisiertes Camping.

Der Weg zur Unterkunft ist für Europäer eine Sensation. Vorbei an Zebras, Springböcken und anderen mir nicht bekannten Tieren. Das Haus ist groß, gut ausgestattet, mit großer Terrasse und für Selbstversorger. Von der Terrasse sieht man Giraffen und die schon erwähnte Tierwelt Afrikas. SPITZE!!! Wir haben an einer Safari vom Gastgeber teilgenommen mit Weihnachtsmenü mitten im Busch, Lagerfeuerromantik und vom Gastgeber und seinem Personal wirklich mit viel Liebe durchgeführt worden. Auch eine absolute Sensation! Zwei Sensationen erlebt!!! Mehr geht nicht.

Nicht gefallen würde ich nicht dazu sagen mehr eine Empfehlung aussprechen. Das Haus ist innen sehr feucht (Wände), Putz platzt großflächig ab. Die Räume riechen feucht und schimmelig. Hier sollte renoviert werden. Wir hatten kein heißes Wasser zum duschen nur kaltes Wasser. Evtl. war bei uns die Warmwasseraufbereitung defekt. Als besonderes Erlebnis würde ich Waggi Mountain Escape wieder buchen und kann es empfehlen. Der Preis ist aktuell im vergleich mit anderen nicht gerechtfertigt. Nach einer Renovierung schon eher.

The beds were not comfortable but the view and location made up for it

On a hillside with wonderful views over the reserve. Very private and spacious. Matching the giraffes from the terrace. Very friendly and accommodating owner. Spotless clean.

Nothing.

Everything about it was just perfect. The hosts think about ever detail (also regarding loadshedding) and we were provided with excellent information beforehand, during and after our stay regarding our trip and the accommodation. We booked the giraffe walk which was so exciting and interesting. The giraffes stay on the actual property all day and we could visit them again in the afternoons. The sunsets were magic.
