Cosmoia Cave House

The location was amazing (right by all the shops and delicious restaurants)! The view was amazing (we didn't have to worry about going anywhere for the sunset, because we had great views from our porch)! The location really is quite exceptional and you can see the blue domes from the porch. The house itself is pretty cool to be in a cave house! The beds were very supportive and comfortable which is always a big deal for me because I have back problems. The AC worked great. The house was clean and very spacious (there were 3 of us and you could comfortably fit double the amount of people in the space). The host met us at the village entrance and showed us how to navigate to the house and anything we should know about how to work things in the house. Our host offered to help arrange transportation and outings. We did not take her up on arranging any of the excursions (so I can't comment on that). But we did take up her offer on arranging our transportation when we left (but not when we arrived). I will say the transport she arranged was a far superior experience to the transportation I arranged through another source because there was a special sale (in hindsight, I would've paid the extra money for the hosts' transport). The transport my host arranged was much more comfortable and a smoother experience (I would advise to take her up on the offer instead of arranging on your own, its worth it!).

Breakfast and the 'hot' tub. The breakfast is food in the fridge that you can cook on your own using a tiny two burner kitchen that is in a little cave nook that you have to bend to see/reach into (I'm 5'9 and was too tall to had to bend to be able to use the kitchen area) and you have only a pot to cook with. The food in the fridge that we had was eggs, ham/cheese, bread, muffins, jam, butter, juice, milk, and very stale cereal on the counter. I was not expecting breakfast to be an "eggs you cook yourself in a kitchen you have to bend into a cave to use" sort of situation. A big complaint for me is the hot tub not being hot at all. I was really hoping to relax my muscles after my plane flight in an actual 'hot' hot-tub, but the tub was cooler than the air temperature. It should be advertised as a 'plunge pool' as the water is left to adjust to whatever temperature it is outside, and is not at all actually hot. You cannot adjust the hot tub temperature yourself, only the facilities person can, and only in the morning - which is pretty inconvenient. So you can't turn it down while its hot during the day and then turn it up in the evening when it cools off. Also I had said something to the host about it being cold and it wasn't turned up. I then asked the host for it to be heated up for a second time (more directly this time), but it never was :( I just would have expected more from breakfast and a hot hot-tub for the price of this stay. But the location is amazing.

I absolutely loved the view! Sunrise was breathtaking, and midday when the crowds got heavy, we’d retreat to the pool to relax, soak in the scenery, and people-watch. The location was perfect, just a short walk to everything and close to some fantastic restaurants. Our host, Elizabeth, was wonderful and super responsive and so helpful with booking activities and dinner reservations. I’d definitely recommend this cave house to anyone visiting Santorini!

We absolutely loved everything about Cosmoia Cave House – the location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Oia with stunning views and easy access to everything. Staying in a traditional cave house was a magical and unique experience, blending history with modern comfort. Most of all, our host Elizabeth made this trip unforgettable. She was exceptionally hospitable and incredibly responsive, always just a message away. She went above and beyond to arrange transportation, book activities, and ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect. Her warmth and attentiveness made us feel genuinely cared for.

Honestly, there was nothing we didn’t like – everything was great.

The cave house was beautifully kept & beds were comfortable. Jacuzzi had warm water all the time so we could use it even in winter. The host Elisabeth was very helpful & kind. She took care of us very well & helped us to arrange for guided tours during the several days we were there.

The water drainage was a little problem in the bathroom but I guess that is to be expected in a traditional cave house.

The highest quality apartment with historic and authentic touch, and a terrace with a sea view you will love from first sight. Very welcoming, helpful and professional landloard, suggested the sightseeing places and restaurants, helped with transfers from/to airport and to other destinatios in Santorini. Perfect location in the very heart of Santorini. Thank you so much for the nice welcoming! Will definitely come back and suggest Cosmoia Cave House to my friends visiting Santorini!

Beautiful views!!! Excellent location. You can see the 3 blue domes to your left, and it’s within easy walking distance if you want to get there at 7am to take pictures (no crowds). There is also another dome that you can see peeking from your house gate. I just love the place! Just beware though, if you are tall, you definitely gotta remember to duck or hit your head in the main door 😁 but I still would book this place again if I ever get to go back to Oia. Our host Elisabeth is awesome, she and her staff helped arranged our pick up from the port and carried our luggages to the accommodation! That really helped because of the steps but they made our transfers to and from the accommodation really seamless. If you’re on the fence about where to stay, I would choose this place, I’m glad I did. If you have any questions, Elisabeth is so quick to answer and help. I can’t say enough good things about staying in this place.
