Overall, this is a great place to stay, even for several days. It has almost everything you might need: a stove, kettle, microwave, fridge, cutlery, dish soap, and a sponge (it would be even better with a kitchen towel, shower gel, and an iron though). The Wi-Fi is excellent. So is the location: the house is about a 15-minute walk from the city centre and around 25 minutes from the train station. There is also the famous wine valley nearby (Szépasszonyvölgy), you also can get there in about 15 minutes (all timings are for walking, so the apartment is really close to all main attractions!). The neighbourhood is super quiet and calm, ideal for peaceful sleep. Everything was clean, and the host, Attila, was always responsive — he even gave me a lift to the station in the morning!

The major downside for me was the temperature: the apartment is on a semi-basement level, so it’s a bit cool even in summer. It wasn’t cold to sleep (in fact, I slept very well - the area is completely quiet, and the bed and pillow were really comfortable), but the temperature difference gave me a bit of a chill! Also, it's quite dark even during the day - again, because of where it is in the house (yep, the apartment is part of a bigger private house). Also, please note there are no grocery stores around the corner or so, one also needs to walk closer to the center or the road leading to the train station to shop.

The room has everything you need such as a fridge, microwave, oven etc and the large bed is very comfortable. The property is located in a quiet street which is a 20-25 minute walk away from the Bazilica and the centre of town. The Valley of the Beautiful women is also nearby and is well worth a visit. You can park your car on the street in front of the property. The owner is pleasant to deal with.

It is essentially just 1 room with a cove linking the bedroom to the other facilities. The owner has tried to cram everything into a relatively small space. As a result, the toilet is too small and I found myself to be hitting my head against the door when I was wiping my backside. Also, the doors of the shower cubicle are very stiff and I had some problems opening them after taking a shower. I was panicking a little as I thought I had got stuck in the cubicle with no way of contacting the owner. However, I did manage eventually to open the door, but it gave me a real fright.

It was great! I felt welcome, and it was close to the winery. Wi-Fi wasn’t as fast as I wanted it to be, but overall, it was an awesome place to stay. Definitely recommend!

The nicest hosts you will ever meet. Super clean apartment in the middle of town. Large place. Amazing view. Great wifi. Would stay again in a second. Lovely experience. Lovely hosts!

The host was very friendly and super accommodating. Even offering to take me to the train station after I checked out. The basement apartment was clean and looked like it had been freshly renovated. With a nice tile shower and a well stocked kitchen. Also the location was a short walk from the valley of the beautiful woman. All and all I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 nights and would definitely recommend staying here.

I struggle to come up with anything negative to say about this place. If I was really pressed I’d say having to track down euros in order to pay while having a pocket full of Forint was a bit of an inconvenience. Just plan ahead and you’ll be set.
