Serene in Ryde

Modern apartment, nicely furnished but with cream carpets that are stained. Location is near the beach front but NOT on it as described. It's on the 3rd floor without lift, then if you look over the houses in front you can get a little sea view. We felt this was misadvertised.

No linen for sofa bed and host didn't answer phone when we called so we had to sleep in 1 bed. One person had a cough so neither of us slept. Also it was 2 adult females so uncomfortable. Past reviews show other people have had this problem too. They brought sheers on 2nd day but without apology. Bathroom cord snapped on 1st use meaning light was on for the 3 days including at night causing more disruption to sleep. Host was unhelpful and refused to fix it ( there were 3 or 4 knots in cord, so it had been broken or tied up many times before). She suggested we had broken it as cleaner saud it was fine. That was a lie. Her attitude is a shame because apartment is nice. I would never stay there again. She also takes an unauth6

the view of the Solent, ferries, cruise ships and hovercrafts.

3 flights of stairs, needs another cupboard to put food in.

Location, facilities provided.

The apartment could do with curtains in the bedroom as the blind isn't sufficient to block out the light early morning.

The apartment is in a great location with all amenities close by. The view is stunning, parking a real bonus and the facilities very comfortable. If we were to have any criticism at all, and this is very minor, the apartment is perhaps in need of a little TLC (e.g., carpets and bathroom).

Excellent location in Ryde close to the well organised bus routes giving access to much of the island. The view across the Solent was breathtaking. The kitchen is well equipped, and the big bed extremely comfortable.

As we are in our eighties we found the several flights of stairs up to the apartment challenging.v
