Ardenlee Self Catering Apartment

perfect location to explore the Isle of Skye in all directions, everything you need available for self catering, even a washing machine, plus: baby-proof (door/fence at ending of the stairs) and equipment (high chair, cot, bathtub). Mairi was very friendly and helpful. Hopefully the apartment will be abailable on future trips: we would like to come back!

pot holes in the (public) road to the apartment…seems to be a general Skye problem :)

We spent 4 nights in the apartment. It’s a great location for visiting the island.We bought food and drinks before to arrive (at the Coop in Portree). We did a own breakfast, and relax dinners. After 10 days in b&b, and restaurants it was nice to have more space and relax. We were able to do laundry and the owner provides some basic food in the pantry. Beautiful surroundings,quiet, relaxing place. Recommend !

The apartment is fantastic! I’m so sorry I didn’t catch the name of the host however she was absolutely lovely and very helpful. The apartment was large, has amazing views from the skylights, and overall felt very homely and cozy. The kitchen is very well equipped and made cooking so easy. There were so many little ‘extra touches’ which just made this such a perfect stay. From providing some bread, butter, milk, to having some of the local beers, whisky and gin available to try and having board games around, we felt very at home. Thankyou for a beautiful stay.

The accommodation was great and it had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Mairi kept us informed of what was happening on the island and her 'care package' was lovely.

Location is about 4 miles out of Portree, so as long as you factor in that you will need to drive back to Portree for meals, etc, it is not an issue. In fact it is lovely to have that bit of peace and quiet around your home base, and the views from the apartment across the countryside (rather than the town), are gorgeous. Apartment is very spacious, and each room is large and open - plenty of room to bring all your luggage and spread out and feel comfortable without tripping over things. Hosts are great - welcome you and ensure you have everything you need, then leave you in peace. Hosts even put basic supplies in the room & fridge for us - milk, butter, bread rolls, shortbread. We had a lovely stay here at Ardenlee, and even had the added bonus of being given free tickets to the Skye Highland Games during our stay - which were fabulous.
