City Centre - The Old Committee Room-free parking

Location is ideal. The main sleeping room was comfortable and it had all of the amenities we needed.

The couch is in dire need of replacement. It sags and the pull out mattress is about 2 inches thick. It also appeared dirty. Luckily my 20 year old nephew slept there as my old body would have been in serious pain had I needed to sleep in it. The bathroom is in need of a deep clean and the curtain should be replaced. Mildew was on the curtain and the shower walls. The French press hadn’t been cleaned prior to arrival. The washer also didn’t seem to work as expected. Perhaps it needs the lines cleared. Lastly, I used the iron without looking first only to discover I transferred black stuff on the shirt I was pressing and damaged it.

Everything. Location. Very central. Lovely rooms, felt very much at home. A bit of a squeeze to get to one side of the bed (but better than some we've stayed in), but a room's a room, and it wasn't important. Also the apartments have the highest ceilings of anywhere I've ever stayed!. Why pay more for a soulless hotel room (and in most cases a whole lot more)? Fully fitted with all the accoutrements one could wish for, except an on site bar, but when the Red Lion is literally over the road to the left and the Blue Bell to the right (for old fogies like me) and the Fossgate Tap (recommended) and the Stonebow for younger types. Will be first on my list for our next trip to York. Oh, did I mention the height of the ceilings?

Location was superb. Parking arrangements were excellent Having more space than in a hotel was a plus Very efficient heating system, particularly important when it was so cold.

Access was great with information from hosts provided via email. The flat is in an excellent location for exploring York and lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. We came by train and it was easy to get to from the station.
