Elephantina sobek guest house

The owner was very helpful, providing information and willing to make tour bookings for reasonable prices on request. He even booked my tour to Abu Simbel for 20% less than all the other passengers on my bus. The apartment has all the facilities you could ask for in a budget apartment, including a washing machine.

The shower has no walls so wets the whole bathroom floor so you run the risk of slipping on the wet floor on the way to and from the toilet. The gas stove is very sooty so soot needs to be cleaned off the bottom of the pot every time. It tends to give a fireball when you light it - best to throw the match at it so you don't risk burning your hand. An extension cable for the refrigerator so that the power cable runs along the floor instead of a few inches above it would be nice. There is a large hole in the mosquito netting so the mosquitos have easy access.

Le gérant est très gentil et accueillant. Il est venu nous chercher au débarquement du ferry. Il nous a proposé plusieurs excursion à la journée. Il possède son propre petit bâteau et est disponible pour des petits tours sur le Nil autour d'Assouan. Il a également un plus gros bâteau où il est possible de dormir. Le logement est spacieux pour deux personnes.

La chambre est petite (on ne peut pas circuler autour du lit). La douche ne fonctionne pas. La machine à laver est vétuste. Le ménage n'est fait qu'en surface, les placards de la cuisine sont mal rangés et très sales. Il n'y a pas d'éponge, ni de torchon. Le frigo sale et non branché était plein de bouteilles vides. Le drap du dessus et les serviettes ne sont pas fournis.

We had an amazing time at Elephantina sobek! It's located on Elephantina island which is a calm and beautiful island on the Nile at Assuan. The owner will try everything to make your stay comfortable. He even has a boat to send you to places around the island at any time. We recommend this hostel!
