Caldas do Gerês Apartment

The location was great, smack in the middle of the village with a butcher and a supermarket in the same apartment complex. Very clean and comfortable with all the amenities.

The ensuite was dark, it wasn't comfortable taking a shower there. You can see some moisture problems around the house

Communication of instructions like garage remote, and wifi password could improve, though it may be because we only speak English. Pictures would help

First impression was that this was a really lovely apartment. Geres is a good center to see the lovely park. The manager did reply to our problems and complaints quickly but without resolve.

After our arrival things went a little downhill. The lack of maintenance and number of problems spoiled what could have been a truly excellent place. We arrived during a hot period and the lack of air conditioning in an apartment of that quality was a disappointment. We chose the apartment as part of the description said it had that it had a/c as one of the features but there was no way of cooling the place. Noise was one of the biggest problems with a road to the front and back also a local nightclub with music continuing until 3:00 a.m or later each night and two restaurants beneath the living room windows both of which provided further noise if sitting out on the balcony.. The lack maintenance was apparent by the fact that things such as the TV control didn't work and the towels were so badly laundered that we had to rewash them upon arrival. The sofa was worn through in many places and no support for the shower head, which had been complained of by many previous reviewers over the past years, made it's use difficult. Forget the described river views, there is a small trickle beneath the kitchen window at the back but as for rivers they don't exist there.

Street noise- traffic and loud music from a restaurant that went on quite late.

They would not refund our money even though we called in advance to let them know we were sick, and they rented the unit out to another party. Very disappointed
