"Wrong decision!"

3.0

Not very far from the city center. The landlady is nice and react unexpected quickly, wenn I worte to her about the dirty bed sheet.

The smell is the first negative point. A lot of people worte about the "window and ventilation issue", but the real problem is the old furnitures in one of the bedrooms. It smells exactly like entering a old roasted wooden country house. I would say, that the owner of the apartment try to bring some comfort in this room. BUT putting a new mattress on top of the aged, yellow and full with brown stained mattress isn't helping at all. I was aware of noise because of the train and main street traffic, and prepare for it. Totally ok. But it felt a little scary, because there is also a bus stop with 4 different buses right in front of the living room windows. As you might have read, the entire apart has only one normal window, with a size about 40*40 cm. And all the other windows are the typical "Dutch windows", which have a ventilation strip on top of the windows. Without the help of a ladder none of us can reach and close them. Therefore all the passagers, who lean on the windows and speak on their phone, was like sitting in the apartment directly next to you. It wasn't stop till at least 11pm. I know, the landlady can't do anything about it, but as a family it really feels not safe. Not last but least, my anxiety rises even higher, wenn I noticed the under part of apartment door can not be closed probably..... Well we left as early as we could in the morning.

"Good for the right type of traveller"

7.0

Spacious, super comfortable beds, easy access and central location

Right on a main road with almost constant traffic noise. The window in the main bedroom was right next to a street lamp and there was just an opaque blind which let in a lot of light as per picture. Combined it was difficult to get a good nights sleep. Some decent curtains would help

Fabulous location and really nice comfortable property

We couldn’t get the shower warm. No hot water, but that could have been our fault!

"Nice 4 person apartment at the edge of the city center."

8.0

Apartement was very clean. Location a few minutes walking from city center. Close to public transport and a cheap but safe parking garage.

The street it is situated on is quite busy. Windows in the master bedroom could not be opened.

"Very good stay in Gent in well located appartment"

8.0

Very well located, all facilities around, bus stop and tram stop at the door. Comfortable appartment

Not possible to open windows. The only way to air the appartment is to open the door....on the street : not very convenient when it is warm....and not possible during the night, when temperature is down.
