Ranil Villa

This is an excellent guesthouse. Very relaxed and comfortable, with super friendly staff. They provide a good breakfast included in the price and optional dinner at reasonable cost. Ranil's wife is a great cook. Ranil is helpful in every way and his dog Lola is so cute. The place is a short tuk tuk ride to Galle Fort. Also Ranil can advise on nearby sights...safari etc. He organised my driver back to Colombo and a canemaking workshop which was an amazing experience. Everything is clean and tidy and the vibe is cosy. I will stay there again.

Ranil was interesting to talk with & also served us with a delicious dinner of fresh prawns. He has a beautiful German shepherd who is so gentle His young daughter is also charming & we wish her & family well for the future.

The rooms are a good size. The showers are hot with great pressure. Ranil and his family are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The highlight of our stay was the food! You have to try the grilled lobster and prawns with salad and chips, our best meal in SL. The whole property including the pool is clean and comfortable. We loved Lola the dog too.

Maybe ask the price of the outsourced laundry service first before using. It had nothing to do with our hosts, it was our own fault for not checking first, we thought it would be a similar cost to what we had paid at a previous hotel.

This is a villa located 5-6 kilometers away from the ancient city of Galle. The villa has convenient transportation, an elegant environment, a swimming pool, and good water quality. It is worth mentioning that the landlord and staff are very friendly and enthusiastic, and provide a very delicious breakfast. It is 2-3 minutes away from the beach. The beach is quiet and beautiful, and it is a good experience.

Ranil was very welcoming and helpful. He organised a whale watching trip and a visit to a turtle rescue centre.

The family have a young German Shepherd, which frequently barked at us. Anyone who is nervous of dogs, especially this breed, and children in particular, might find this unsettling.

The host family were friendly and helpful , the restaurant style meals were delicious, the swimming pool so refreshing and relaxing Across the road from the beautiful beach .

Ranill is an excellent host who works hard to please. The food was very very good especially the prawns and cuttlefish. The pool was clean and well maintained.

The location was on a very busy street and it was close to train tracks so a lot of noise at night.
