The building looks nice from outside

If you get delayed by transport and arrive after 5 expect to pay for the experience of not staying at the hotel. At 5, the gates are bolted and there is no way inside. On weekends they do not staff the reception so there is no way to get in contact either. But they are happy to take your money non the less

Friendly staff. Quiet place. Extra free access to museum. Ancient atmosphere.

If there are windows it would be perfect.

Medieval experience at it’s best!

The bed felt a little bit wet but it goes hand in hand with such a historic building.

The castle was just fantastic and great to be there overnight. The person in the museum shop were very helpful. It was difficult to find the way to drive in but we eventually did. The barbeque later that evening was really great, and we could climb up and look over the river to Russia.

We'd have preferred plain yogurt to fruit yogurt for breakfast, but it was all fine.
