Absolutely beautiful apartment, incredible furnishings and decor.....superb!

The apartment and garden were lovely. We were greeted by the host upon arrival who showed us through the apartment and recreational area out back which was peaceful and lovely. We were also greeted with some wine and chocolates on arrival. There was also a complimentary mini bar in the fridge with soft drinks and beer. What the photos do not show is that the apartment is split into a bathroom / bedroom area and kitchen / dining / living area separated by a foyer. This was a little awkward to get used to at first, but we managed. The information booklet provided was a wonderful resource for using the facilities and great tour ideas. Finally, the apartment is a 10 minute walk to the centre of town.

The bed was small for us as two tall people. We would call it a double.

You have the opportunity to live like a noble in the 1800s but with the bonus of current amenities. We were shocked by the beauty of the palace we lived in and all the art pieces and original decoration and architecture. the place was spotless, nicely decorated and has a huge garden with the fish pond only added to the already awesome palace. It also has a pavillion and a grill place enough for a large group. You will rent basically two rooms and a large living room at the greound level and share a large hallway with the other persons living in the building. The hallroom splits the two rooms but you can always lock the doors but it is really not the case. The kitchen has a microwave oven and an electric plate foor cooking. You will find most of the kitchen amenities needed for a short to.medium stay if you want to cook. Bathroom is nice and coquette. The hosts are responsive and very nice and they live on the premises, in a separate building, net to the rented space. The french bulldog is also nice and friendly and will come and play with you whether you like it or not but who does not love a cuddly french bulldog? We also received a lot of complementary gifts in the form of sweets and drinks. There is no doubt that next time I will be in Gent I will rent it again.

It was so close to the city center with unique and old world charm

The living room and kitchen were across the hallway from the bedroom and bathroom and had to be locked separately

The flat was really quirky and beautifully decorated and furnished. But what we liked most of all was the garden, a beautiful oasis to relax in after a day of sightseeing. The location was great too, just a short walk to the centre of Ghent

The bedroom and living room/kitchen are separate across a lobby, which others can access. It wasn't a massive problem but slightly less convenient than if they were connected

Our hosts were super welcoming . They let us leave our luggage there as we arrived early and left generous snacks and drinks for our stay. They decor is funky and the garden lovely. One small issue sorted out immediately we need ruined it. The location is a short walk from all the sights - or two bus stops. We loved Ghent and we loved our apartment.

Nice traditional apartment in a good area for walking easily into old Ghent. Imposing ceiling heights and some nice old furniture. Lovely tranquil garden area with a pond outside. Easy walk to a good supermarket near Dampoort train station -Carrefour.

Some of the time there was a bad smell from the drains which wasn't pleasant and has been mentioned in other reviews so I am not sure if anything can be done to make it better.

Perfectly located, just a few minutes walk to the heart of the city.
