Huis van Vletingen Apartment

Bij aankomst had het erg geregend en deed het toegangspaneel het niet. De host was gelukkig op locatie en kon opendoen. Werden goed ontvangen en hij deed ons meteen de sleutel van de garagebox om de auto in te parkeren, ideaal op deze locatie! Alles is aanwezig wat je nodig zou hebben voor een kort verblijf met in ons geval 3 mannen. Het was bij ons erg warm geweest (ver boven de 30 graden) en het huisje was binnen ook erg warm. De airco boven in de slaapkamer kon het wel snel koel krijgen. Joost is een goede host en heeft oog voor wat een gast nodig heeft.

Er was braderie en dat was niet bij ons bekend. Wat vroeger in de ochtend veel geluid bij het opbouwen waarbij de we ramen open hadden in verband met de hitte. Beneden in de woonkamer geen airco en ik sliep op de slaapbank. Al met al prima te doen, maar was niet ideaal. Joost heeft ons wel een drankje aangeboden op de braderie op zijn kosten. Aan de host lag het niet!

Ce logement est une pépite. L'hôte est adorable, à notre arrivée il est sorti de son magasin pour nous accueillir. Nous étions en contact avec lui avant, pendant et après notre séjour. Nous avions plein de petites attentions : de grands parapluies si nous en avions besoin, du thé, du café, des snacks sucrés et salés, de l'eau et du jus de fruit au frigidaire... Le quartier est calme, à proximité des commerces et à quelques minutes à pied du centre-ville. Le parking est à quelques mètres, dans un box fermé à clé. Le petit plus : la terrasse extérieure, qui nous a permis de prendre des repas au soleil. La salle de bain est très agréable.

The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed. I appreciated the small library of books to read. The location was good. A 30 minute walk from the railway station and an 18 minute walk from the centre of Ghent. The host, Joost was helpful and friendly. He kindly allowed us to leave our bags at the apartment on our last day as we had a late train to Brussels.

My only gripe is that the induction hob in the kitchen was difficult to operate. There is apparently an instruction manual available, but we couldn't find it.

The apartment was super clean and cozy, well positioned, only 15 minutes by walk from the city center and well connected by bus/tram. The host was super nice and available, you can tell that there is a lot of attention to the guests and their stay, super recommended!
