Riverside (with 3 Bedrooms) by JC

The three bedrooms and two baths provided plenty of space for our family of five. A Nespresso machine adds a nice touch. This accommodation is right off the river in Ribeira, walking distance to Ponte Luis and many restaurants and bars.

This apartment is quite hard to find and access. Our host gave us detailed directions to make this easier, but you still have to walk up and down many steps or cobblestone streets to get there. It’s a second-floor walk up, too, so be mindful of the luggage you’ll need to carry. This is also a fairly bare-bones accommodation. When we arrived, there were only three bath towels in the entire place, and no hand towels or paper towels of any kind. When we requested towels from the host, they dropped some off, but of different sizes. There is no residual food (no oil or salt/pepper etc) other than the coffee maker in the kitchen. This apartment has fans but no AC.

The location was good, however there was no nice views and no river views.

The property smelt like sewage issues. It was extremely hot - , even with fans it was extremely hot & very stuffy . When we arrived for our trip with 5 people, the owner only provided us with 3 towels for 5 people. There was limited toilet roll and they were charging extra for more.

Very close to the busy part of the river front and in the old part of town .

Surrounded by tall buildings so very limited views , could just see part of the Don Louise bridge.

Perfectly located with delicious food over the corner (Lez Capinha, strongly recommend). Comfortable apartment, safely located. Despite of lack the aircon, temperature in the flat was pleasurable and it was 30 degrees during our stay.

2 cups in 3 double bed flat was a hustle. Not very modern, but compensated by location. 2nd floor with no lift, which may be difficult with older people - but a day in Porto where you have nothing but the stairs everywhere, it is ok.

The good location, the price

It’s not easy to find the apartment but you can call the property and ask help.

Location was fantastic for exploring the waterfront.

No AC, lots of steps, stuffy as it was pretty warm outside, lack of a view, noisy as we had to keep the windows open, broken shower heads in the shower.
