Amazing City Center Apartment Porto Villa Lóios

It is very well equipped - probably the best equipped apartment I ever spent my vacation in. The fridge is very big and there is a dishwasher - and even tabs for it. The showers have good water pressure. I also liked the wooden blinds in the master bedroom, one could black out the sun 100% (I am a light sleeper). The owner is extremely helpful.

If one is a light sleeper it is still hard to sleep in if someone is staying in the second bedroom as one hears everything that is going on in the apartment. Also, the twin beds are quite narrow. The balcony is hard to use as the floor and the furniture are dirty and rusty.

The location, space available in the accommodation and basic supplies like coffee, tea, salt and pepper, honey, oil was great. Twin beds for tall people and lots of pillows were very nice Easy access to a Mercado and all the tourist sites and train station.

We really enjoyed the accommodation and the host. If I could improve anything it would be to have more supportive/comfortable lounge seating and more supportive pillows. But really, it was very nice.

The flat is very clean. It was well supplied with almost all materials for a stay. Two good bathrooms. It is centrally located very near the main railway station. It is quiet.

The person in charge informed us a day before departure for Porto that the property is not possible to reach for taxis. This is because a new line of the metro is being built. This has been going for months and the manager withheld the information about the significant difficulty of reaching the property with luggage until AFTER the deadline for cancelling the stay had passed. This kind of conduct characterised many of her dealings. There is no information on how to use appliances (eg tv), what channels are available (none in English or German and three very poor quality French channels). The small batteries for one of the remotes ceased to function; there were no replacements. One living light room never did work. Lighting is very poor in the flat (all side lights with very low bulbs-this makes it almost impossible to read/do serious work, my main purpose. The first night the main kitchen light went out: it took two days to get this replaced. Information about arrangements to fix things tended to be inaccurate. The information on BOOKING.COM fails to mention the kitchen and the living room are up a steep flight of stairs inside the flat. You have to be fit to enjoy your stay! Towards the end of the stay the lift had stopped working and it never got repaired. With our luggage we were going to go down to the station, taking several turns and get a taxi to the airport from there. But the manager urged us to let her send someone to help us get downstairs with the luggage. The staircase is made of metal and it is outside. Nobody came to help us so we had to carry down the slippery metal stars all our luggage in a hurry n the pouring rain. She had ordered a taxi that she said would get us in front of the building. No taxi was around until 25 minutes after the agreed time and of course he failed to come down the closed street: we had to climb uphill with the bags in the rain, rushing. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY UNLESS THERE IS DIFFERENT MANAGEMENT IN CHARGE

this apartment had everything we need. It was located in a great neighborhood with lots of action and restaurants to choose from.

The beautiful apartment's central location, which is within walking distance of all major attractions. It's proximity to the train and subway stations and many many excellent restaurants and cafes. The friendliness of the people. Our stay in Porto was made special by the many recommendations given to us by Marta who kept in contact with us and who went above and beyond to make our stay in Porto amazing. Thank you Marta! We will return.

No negatives!

The apartment was very clean and comfortable. There were 2 bathrooms both with a toilet and shower which worked well for us as two couples. The kitchen was well equipped and the sitting room had comfortable chairs, a TV and a balcony which was great to sit out on. The location was excellent. Close to the station and in the centre of old town. There were plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from, and being in a side street it wasn’t too busy.

It went well from the beginning, when Marta was very flexible with our check-in. When we arrived we found some compliments that made us smile. The apartment location is great, it’s clean, modern, comfortable, it had everything needed for our stay. Having 2 floors is ideal for groups when someone wants to sleep earlier. Very charming balcony. Marta also gave us suggestions of where to park the car.

Be aware if you have mobility issues. The stairs to the second floor are very steep, and the street where the apartment is located might require some up and down. Not sure if you can escape from that in Porto though. Besides that, just the toilet door was not closing so easily. One of the bedrooms could have a door that gives a bit more privacy also.
