Mill Lodge

It was a self-catering apartment. Very comfortable for the quiet retreat that we were looking for. The mill is a working flour mill and bread is baked on the premises which is delicious. Very close to Wells and convenient for a visit to the Wookey hole caves. We had an excellent break and would recommend it for a comfortable get-away weekend or indeed a longer visit.

I honestly can't think of anything that could have been better. It is not suitable for those struggling with mobility as there are steep steps up to the door and the sitting room is up another flight of stairs. You can here the hum of the mill race water but we found this relaxing.

Everything. Great location, beautiful old mill building with fantastic facilities, and perfect for a bit of much-needed escapism. Very warm welcome from Steve and Louise - perfect hosts ! Even the pet guinea pigs came over to say hello.

No minus points - everything was perfect.

The property is in a good location to explore the area. We found the accommodation charming and comfortable.

Location very good for local and tourist activity

Being located on a main road the traffic noise was sometimes disturbing , especially with the need to open windows in warm weatherv

-The bed was very comfortable, and the apartments surfaces were clean. - It was nice to be given some teas, coffe and milk. - Bedding was lovlely quality -TV was really good and WiFi was fast - Hosts where very helpful and attentive - Good location - The working mill feature was very cool

-There was alot of cobwebs, spiders and bugs around the apartment (dead bugs in a few draws). Wished the cobwebs were cleaned before we came, it felt like some spots in the apartment were missed. - I think a warning needs to be advertised somewhere saying some of the ceilings are low, me and my partner are on the taller side of the scale and would have liked a warning. -The cooking utensils were dirty and the the frying pan was too small so we struggled to cooked for two, we also didn't like the note in the pan telling us not to use metal utensils. On the same topic there wasn't enough dishes, cutlery, or glasses. -The dish sponge had food on it from the previous people, so we brought our own cloths, also the washing up liquid we where provided with had little to nothing left in it (who wants to bring their own washing up liquid). -We also found a note above the toilet telling what we can and can't flush. And as we entered the apartment we were told not to flush sanitary wear (we arnt children we do know what we should and shouldn't be doing, would this have been said to someone older?). In the bathroom we found two and a half toilet rolls, and that's just not enough for a weeks stay.

A fantastic location on the outskirts of the village, with a pub opposite and an artisan bakery on site with a working watermill ! ! Steve and Louise were great hosts and could not have done more for us, highly recommended.

The only fault I could find was a bit of road noise in the mornings but that was mostly due to the farmers tractors in a hay time frenzy whilst the good weather lasted. So, every thing good/
