Arida Apartments

Location and safe for families.Recommend it for family stay for few days

A great apartment which was clean and tidy. Well located for a ten minute walk into the centre of the old town. Very convenient if you want a bride's dress, there are 16 bride shops on this street!

There was a bit of road noise, especially when motorbikes went by, but that is part of town living everywhere.

Inside the partment itself was fine.

Nothing wrong with the apartment itself but it is located above a bar with an outside seating area and food bar. The noise was horrendous from the moment we stepped into the apartment at 2pm, with bass pumping through the rooms. And it went on and on until finally at 10.30pm we asked them to turn it down. Reluctantly they did turn it down a bit but it still was clearly hearable and stopped us sleeping. Finally at midnight it was turned off. This was a Monday and not even a weekend when apparently it goes on til 2am. Not acceptable and laughable when the apt rules state quiet time at 10pm and no parties. Plus the smell from the burger van was awful. We didn't complain to the owner as couldn't see that they could solve this so instead booked another new apartment for the remainder of our stay. Please do not book this apt if you want to sleep!

The apartment is nice, clean and cosy, well equipped. Good location, supermarket nearby.

It was very cold for May, with no central heating on. Extra blankets should be available in the wardrobe. The hosts provided one small heater, but it was not enough for the whole apt. Each room needs one. Tip: the boiler has to be turned on upon arrival if you want hot water on the same day.

Lovely location and wonderfully presented, with great touches throughout the apartment. So pleased to have washing facilities, iron, and hair dryer.

Everything was great! The apartment was clean and had everything we needed.

Public transport was good , stores were near the apartment had nice furniture.

The apartment was very cold. The stairs were in a terrible condition. The tv set was only in Latvian or Russian.
