SEMy wife and I had a great time at Amalfi view cottage. Driving around Amalfi can be stressful, but the location just East of Maiori is significantly less trafficked compared to the part West of Amalfi. We had good instructions and on arrival, our host Alberto came out to meet us and showed us where we could park. On the terraced property the cottage is one level below the main house. There are delightful lemon, olive, fig and wisteria trees on the terrace providing nice shade. As this was our first stay during our two-week South Italy roadtrip we decided to mainly relax around the cottage and enjoy the ocean views. We did drive in to Maiori where there is a supermarket with specified parking. One day we also took the bus to Amalfi. Nice to see, but way overcrowded. I think this part of Amalfi is really better to visit before or after July and August. The cottage itself is suitable for two adults. The kitchen is small, but all utensils are there to make some great pasta dishes. Alberto and Rosalba generously let us pick as many lemons as we wanted. The tap water is good quality so no need to haul plastic water. Alberto showed us how to make excellent lemon water by slicing several lemons in a pitcher. That and some GT's provided a yearly dose of Vitamin C.
A bit adventurous to walk down to the ocean. There is an overgrown trail that you can follow. Like many have said already the trail ends with a 3 m vertical drop towards a great beach. The tip from Alberto was to walk towards the swimming pool instead and by this way reach the ocean. I will try that next time.
