The host charged 44€ per night for the each of my four sisters which was not expected and was extreme for the area and situation when I hand already rented the entire apartment. The host’s mother showed up asking for more € when some friends stopped by to visit my sister who hurt her knee on the Camino. The hot water ran out after only two showers so not suited for more than two people.

Property was very clean

A big problem is the fact that there is no reception. This is a privately owned apartment and both delivery of bags and arrangement of entry was unnecessarily complicated. The owner asked us to have the bag transfer company deliver our rucksacks to his parents’ home, a separate address, and then to give notice in advance of our arrival at the apartment. We were also asked to send copies of our passport details by WhatsApp in advance. He was very courteous and genuinely keen not to keep us waiting, but the language barrier and the fact that we were walking separately and not sure of our precise time of arrival made the process rather stressful. It would be better if these difficulties were made clear up front at the time of booking so that people can make a choice whether to go for this or to seek somewhere with a reception. The apartment was located near the town centre, immaculately clean, and nicely decorated. Some kind of welcome snack or something to eat and drink in the apartment would be an appropriate acknowledgment of the difficulties which renting this particular accommodation presents.
