Unfortunately, our experience in this flat was far from satisfactory due to misleading information in the add and the lack of a proper resolution from the property owner. We booked this apartment based on the add on Booking.com, which clearly showed a bedroom with air conditioning. This was a key factor in our decision, as we would not have booked the property otherwise. Upon arrival, we discovered that the bedrooms did not have air conditioning, and the photo in question was from a different apartment altogether. This discrepancy was confirmed by the owner just before our arrival, but after we had paid in full months in advance. Although the owner offered us a temporary stay in the other apartment with air conditioning, this unit was smaller than the one we originally booked and did not meet our expectations. Furthermore, we were forced to move again mid-stay, which significantly disrupted our holiday and affected our overall comfort and experience. As the owner did not provide a satisfactory solution, we had no choice but to secure alternative accommodation at our own expense.

We recently stayed at Calypso Home and had a decent experience overall. It’s not a luxury apartment by any means, but it was spotlessly clean and located on the top floor with a lovely sea view. Be prepared — there’s no lift, and it gets very hot in the summer, AC just in the living room.The home is in a quiet, rural area of Badesi, which is not a typical tourist town, so it’s ideal if you’re looking for something off the beaten path. What really stood out was the hospitality: Etorre was incredibly helpful, and the owner Patrizzia was also very kind and welcoming, which made a big difference.

The hosts for this apartment were welcoming and always available to help, just a text message away. Despite our unexpected change and late arrival our host couldn’t have been nicer about the whole thing. The apartment was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. There is little communal pool available for the apartment block, which again was clean and well maintained. It does close for siesta so we opted for the beach rather than the pool. The apartment is about 2km from Li Junchi beach, which is a very beautiful beach with sunbed hire, parking (make sure you pay for your parking) and a couple of restaurants and shop for drinks and ice cream. Personally I would recommend the Emerald, located at the end of the beach, lunch or evening time. The beach is so clean, and a blue flag beach. The apartment is ideally located near a supermarket, less than a 2 min stroll, downhill! Badesi, if you are ok to walk uphill, can be reached from the apartment otherwise you can drive there in a few mins. The apartment is located between Isola Rossa and Castelsardo, both of which are lovely little towns, and a trip there is recommended. The village of Badesi is not developed as a tourist village but has bars, restaurants, atms and shops, the locals are lovely, anything we needed such as plug adaptors we managed to locate easily enough. There is a Badesi bus which runs past the apartment and to the beach, I would recommend having a car would be best.

I can’t say we disliked anything about the apartment, these comments are more constructive than anything: I was a little worried when I saw where the apartment was located, as it is just off the main road at the back of a supermarket, being used to walking down the beach strips in Spain or Portugal I thought I had made a huge mistake. However this area isn’t at the stage of being over developed from a tourist perspective, hopefully it never will be as it is a stunning location. It is a rural area but when you find the right bar or restaurant for you there’s lots of music and fun. The square at the beach had a DJ one evening and a wine tasting evening the next evening, great fun. The apartments only drawback for me was because I was traveling with my elderly mum. The apartment is up 2 flights of stairs, no lift, and at the top of a hill. It was the one thing I didn’t check when I booked the apartment and not something that is called out in the info on the apartment so if you or any of your party struggle with walking etc you would need to be mindful of this. You can drive up to the base of the stairs to the apartment for drop off however usually will need to park in the car park which is at the bottom of the hill as parking near the apartment is limited.
