Katia Tulum 10min drive from the beach

The location was fine, the suite was fine. Nothing remarkable about the property. The concierge at the front desk knew nothing. Not sure what his purpose was.

The sliding door to the patio automatically locks from the outside. I went outside to the patio and closed the door so as not to let the airconditioning escape. The door locked itself and I was stuck outside on the patio for 5 hours. The owners were not responding to a neighbour's texts who was trying to help me. Finally someone from another building found someone who knew a locksmith who came and unlocked the unit door and let me off the balcony. They charged me 1,000 pesos, which I happily paid but the owners did not reimburse me for anything and they also did not put a warning in the listing or on the door about it self-locking when closed. Secondly, I had to leave after 2 nights and fly home due to a death in the family. The owners said they would try to do something for me but gave me no refund and I only stayed 2 nights leaving 5 nights unused and I am sure they found another renter to cover that period. Also, there is no cellular service when you are in the suite. I couldn't receive voice calls, or voicemails unless I left the building and went down 2 streets to get reception. The Wifi worked fine, but the cellular voice service on my phone did not work.

Nice new apartment! big and comfortable!

Many rules by owners. Many messages and additional notification. was a feeling’s that is not allowed to breathes… because water is expensive, energy is expensive and bla bla bla… owners asking to sign additional agreement…

This condo is absolutely beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. Drinking water upon arrival, basic necessities were provided (dish soap, hand soap, extra toilet paper, garbage bags, cooking oil, spices, coffee, sugar, creamers, broom, mop etc) - all these details made this rental that much more comfortable! The framed Tulum to-do and cenotes to visit lists were so cute. Thanks to Juan y Jonathan for a wonderful stay, excellent communication and arranging reasonably priced transportation for us (be aware most Tulum taxis charge excessive rates). Highly recommend this rental, I’d definitely return!

Cold shower. Location is bit far from main strip and the beach (taking a car, scooter, taxi or bicycle is recommended). But there are stores, shops and restaurants nearby within walkable distance (expensive though).
