New City Center Giulio Cesare

1. I already wrote a review but since this website wants me to, I can write a little more. Again, this property is next to a market place, next to an indoor mosque, and so on. It was affordable, it was quiet in side, and at worst you'd rather hear noise of your neighbours. I didn't hear any dogs. Everything was OK. Also free coffee pods and the admin was friendly and helpful. 2. I'd also borrow this review to post more pics to give you an idea of the market place and Roman wall next to the property. Check my other review for the inside of the room. I have no issue with the surroundings, really, except that the market place was quite messy every working day after it was dark. But I must emphasize it is not about the property at all.

Again the website wants me to repeat so I'd just say people might like to have a microwave here. However, seriously, I wouldn't bother with microwave food in Italy known for a huge number of great dishes and other food items. This is not a complaint but just a fact.

1. This property is located slightly north of the centre (Centro). I have hundreds of photos for Turin alone, and I can only select a few to illustrate things. It was a nice place overall. I think Turin was kind of dusty (compared to other places in Italy), if this is worth considering. 2. The property was clean and tidy and the admin was friendly and helpful. Whatever reviews you see in the review section could be because past residents did not understand the society of Turin (who live in the surrounding area) or did not follow house rules, etc. Generally, I like a place where I just check in and do whatever I want (well, I do follow the rules). It is a private quiet place for one to at maximum a small family. I understand that it was winter so there were many bed sheets, but you can always choose to use fewer if you prefer. In fact, I didn't sleep well but it was only me. My partner who chose to sleep on the couch seemed to like the couch. Also, this property offered a free coffee machine and free coffee pods. If you drink coffee, you may like this too. 3. The location is 20/25 minutes from Porta Nuova and Porta Susa, the main train stations. My partner and I both liked the proximity. There are quite a few eateries around, and it was handy to just travel to other parts of Turin by tram or bus, if you prefer. 4. There is in fact an indoor mosque next to this building. If you understand this religion, you know that there are weekly prayers on Fridays. I didn't hear a lot of noise. The prayers take place during the day. I did hear some bells nearby at 9am or 6pm and it might be another church or something. The most likely noise would rather be neighbours, since walls were thin. I didn't hear any dogs. 5. There is a daytime market place next to the building. People sold cooking ware, soap, perfume, bed sheets, phone chargers and stuff. A lot of others sold fruits and vegetables. Can be messy but you can get used to it.

I think my experience was good overall but it's constructive to say something in this section. As I said, the bed sheets and the heating up of sheets (because of winter) may not be for everyone, but it is a room service after all. I'd rather say it'd be nicer if there were a microwave. However, having that said, I don't think you need microwaved food in Italy when there are tons, tons of restaurants, cafes, even market places where you could find ham, cheese, fruits and the like... I cannot exactly say either that "I need to use stairs to reach the main bed" as a complaint but it is a fact. This property is definitely a good choice if you don't mind the stairs, the surroundings, and the lack of a microwave, and if you like an affordable choice. So, yes, this is kind of a positive comment here too.
