Nest Port View Apartment

Lovely little self contained, modern flat, the size of a hotel room, right in the centre by the port. Quiet too. Tea and a coffee machine was nice. Milk and bottled water in the fridge. Very easy communications.

It's on the 4th floor which is fine if you're happy to use the lift which we weren't as it was tiny and there was no one else in the building and it was late at night! It's expensive too. The next night we stayed in a perfectly good hotel around the corner for 45 euros (as opposed to 105). Fine if you want to cook your own meals rather than eat out.

I liked that the check in was easy and quick. The nearby port parking is not too expensive and very close. Also the location is great if you want to be near the city center and the ouzeri restaurants. The apartment itself was clean, and recently renovated. Security door was a plus.

The room was very nice once we got inside, but the apartment building in overall made me hesitant to go inside at first. The fact that the downstairs door remains open for most of the day, and the fact that the building entrance is not well-lit at night, gave off an unsafe vibe. The elevator is small and old and could not fit two adults with one suitcase. I was also concerned by the bad smell of the entrance. The rest of the building has offices, and we were unlucky in the respect that in the morning the office next door was making maintenance chores and therefore making a lot of noise, waking us up bright and early at 8 AM. Still, the room has a reinforced security door so we felt safe after getting inside and locking the door. The entrance may not be something that the host can influence, but it is a matter of concern for guests.
