The location is excellent, in the center of Sitia. Also the style and the coziness of this apartment I will remember it forever.

Everything was just perfect.

Mom’s Home is situated perfectly in the heart of Sitia on the far east coast of Crete. It is a few steps from the central dining and meeting area for the town. It consists of a slightly small and awkward bedroom and shower and loo (fully explained in the blurb and only a problem for us as large Anglo-Saxons), a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable air conditioned sitting area. Its pièce-de-résistance is the covered balcony overlooking the seafront, with a small bbq, comfortable chairs and a day-bed for lounging. The hostess Gina was generous with her time and very helpful. Parking is available about 100 metres away. Sitia itself is worth a word. You will need a car to take advantage of it. It is about four hours drive from Chania and two-and-a-half from Heraklion. It does have an airport which doesn’t seem very busy. The area is largely without foreign tourists like us, and is very natural farmland and parkland with numerous sites of archeological interest, and many pleasant swimming and hiking spots. Prices are reasonable, and roads are mountainous and twisty, but well-maintained and empty due to the distance from the main tourist hubs. The town has a buzzing local community and many entertainments of the folks-music variety for free on the marina.

The bedroom could do with air conditioning on the hotter nights in midsummer.

Lovely big terrace balcony with great view. Located on the main plateia. Kitchen well equipped. There weee lots of dishes and a welcome supply of essentials to start us off. The owner was accessible and helpful when I needed information, like how to work an induction cooker

Have to say that the bedroom is very small with a three quarter bed. We were quite comfortable and slept well but it was cosy.

Excellent location. Only a few minutes walk from the ferry port, the beach and amenities.

The apartment is in the centre of Sitia with a great view of the sea from the terrace. The apartment is quiet and extremely comfortable with all the equipment and facilities you would need, it is tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean. Our host met us when we arrived and we were welcomed with a cold drink and fruit in the fridge. She was extremely helpful regarding local information and replied to our emails almost immediately.
