La Maddalena

Spacious apartment with a very good location in Atrani with a beautiful view from the roof terrace. I loved this town with an authentic Italian feel to the side of busy Amalfi while being only a 15 minute walk through the pedestrian tunnel to the port of Amalfi. Near a pleasant local beach and a short distance from Lido di Ravello beach. We were here in September, which was a very pleasant, not very busy time.

The property location and potential are very high. It was a good value. Roberto and Julia were responsive to some degree.

The property is “tired” and in need of investment and update. Bathroom is really old. Mattresses are worn out. This place has tremendous potential, but appears it simply has had very little investment over time. Hard to imagine staying here again for such a long period of time (14+ days) without substantial investment. UPDATED REVIEW: (See photos) Our original review was written as to not to "Nuke" the property, assuming a savvy traveler would be able to connect the dots and not stay here. Tried working with the renting agency for consideration, but did not work out. Property was misrepresented from its website. Anyone with any reasonable standards would not stay here, especially for a party of four for any period of time. Problems are: 1) Shower was dirty (see photo with brown and unclean grout) and the drain was clogged for two days. It took the management company two days to get the drain unclogged and afterwards it continued to get clogged after minor use. 2) Mattresses were worn out and pillows were yellow. Called the mattress/bed situation to the attention of the management company who stated they were unaware of the problem but reviews state otherwise. The mattresses were so worn out (queen bed mattress had no support and was tilted to one side due to being worn out) that our family had to use cushions from the living room to bolster the mattresses. Pillows are disgusting and yellow stained from previous renters. 3) The deck furniture in the website photo was misrepresented. The furniture was actually piled up next to stairway, rusted, and unusable. Would have moved but there were no other options in Atrani. Note that most positive reviews here are mostly about Atrani and not La Maddelena. This property is not up the standards we normally experience with Bookings.com. This property has issues that need to be addressed. Note: These issues were called to the attention of the management agency while we were there except for the deck furniture.

The location - distance from Amalfi

There were many things we disliked about this property. Please read carefully before booking: - You need to walk up MANY stairs to get to the property. With luggage this can be nearly impossible. - The beds in the property are terrible. Don’t expect a comfortable sleep in any of the beds. - if you are a light sleeper, know that the local church bells go off every 15 minutes 24 hours a day. We struggled to sleep during our stay because of this. - There is a terrible sewage smell that comes from the bathroom. The owner told us it’s because we left the gas on (which cannot be true as we never used the stove) but it clearly wasn’t the smell of any gas. The sewage smell clearly came from the bathroom and it was BAD! The owners were very friendly and helpful and kind until we complain about the sewage smell. I don’t know if other properties in Atrani/Amalfi has similar issues but we really did not enjoy our stay at this property.

location was incredible! 10 minute walk to Amalfi and the Amalfi port and a 2 minute walk to Atrani square.

AMAZING property!!! i have been travelling europe for 10 weeks and this was my favourite place I stayed at! The hosts were so lovely and very helpful. Amazing location with an incredible view. I wish I could live here!!!!!

Nothing!!!

Excellent location within 5 minutes walking distance to Almafi. 2 minutes walk to bus stop and beach shops restaurant's. We travelled off season for one week and were blessed with good weather. The apartment is ideal for families with kids, there were 5 in our group. Spotlessly clean and our host Rosella was very helpful. Atrani is a wonderful village and gives a really authentic feel. Good wifi fridge washing machine and cooking facilities. Superb base for travel around almafi coast.

Our only qualm was that the double bed although comfortable needs to be replaced

Location was perfect. Loved the apartment. It had a beautiful small terrace with amazing views. The square in Atrani had a couple of restaurant/ bars. Food was very good. Amalfi was only a 10 minute walk away. Plenty of ferries to other tourist spots.

Found the stairs to mezzanine bedroom difficult. There were a lot of steps to reach the apartment which might not suit everyone.

We really liked the location. It's located in a small town next to Amalfi but everything is accessible by foot. It's in the middle of the Amalfi-coast so it's easy to go both ways of the coast. It's a few steps up, but not to many. The hostess was sooo sweet and told us everything about the village and the surroundings. Everytime we saw her in the city she came over to talk about how our day was going. The roofterrace was a big plus with a beautiful view of the city of Atrani. We really enjoyed our stay!

The bed on the upper floor was a bit hard for our liking.
