Nice appartment, good location, nice balcony with a mountain view.

The appartment is in betwern two appartments with neighbours that smoke all day long, so the smell is also in the appartment. The smaller bed was quite hard and it looks clean, but there are a little corners and places that need thorough cleaning.

Location Bed was clean

The apartment wasn't clean. No clean kitchen or countertops/splashboards. The sofa wasn't clean. Hallway smells from smoking upstairs

We stayed 4 nights and were really let down. The apartment was not properly cleaned before our arrival and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, even though it was listed as non-smoking. The owner doesn’t live on-site, and the apartments above and below are also rented. The guests in those units smoked constantly, and the smell came straight into our apartment. We were especially concerned because we have a small child, and she developed an asthmatic cough during the nights. Definitely not ideal for families. The rug and sofa were covered in dust and dirt. I asked for a vacuum cleaner – to be fair, they brought one quickly – but it didn’t work well. A suggestion to the owner: invest in a proper vacuum, throw out the rug, and replace the sofa. This place might suit a group of teenagers who don’t care much about cleanliness, but it’s absolutely not family-friendly. We would not stay here again.

To be honest, it’s quite run down and in need of a good clean. The sofa was stained and not comfortable as it’s so worn. We arrived when it was dark and it was not clear that the access door was at the back of the house. The apartment is the middle of 3, one above, one below. The outside door was never locked and often left open. The door to the apartment is just inside the outside door and is locked. Everytime we entered the apartment it smelled strongly of smoke, we suspect it may be one of the neighbours but it was not pleasant at all. The furniture is all from Ikea and has been well used. Everything works but it just wasn’t as clean as we hoped. It’s tucked into a residential area with quite narrow roads and parking is in the next street that is a bit awkward but ok. There isn’t any shops or anything local and it’s a 10-15minute drive into Bergen.

Good location

Sadly we really struggled with this stay due to the smell of smoke. Not just a little bit of smoke but asthma-triggering, clinging to everything we brought into the flat for weeks afterwards. It was not easy to choose between freezing and turning on the ventilation heater which ventilated more smoke everywhere. When we read the previous reviews we thought "oh, ok, a little bit of smoke, it can happen." but it did not prepare us for the eye-watering assault which happened when we stepped into the flat. Also nothing was clean, we arrived to the house and it was the only house with several trash bags lying around in the yard. In the flat we could see greasy hands and fingers prints everywhere, it was not comfortable.
