Loch Lomond Riverside Apartment

Good location nice and roomy

Was not very clean WiFi did not work .

Our apartment on the first (and top) floor was very light and had a nice view on the countryside. It was spacious, and the beds were fine (as long as you are not taller than 1,90 metres)

In short: the apartment has quite some potential, but did by no means live up to what may be expected. A lot of things were disappointing: - The fridge was not working. Credits to the owner for replacing it with a new fridge within 24 hours, but our request for a small compensation because of all the fresh groceries we had to throw away because of this was completely ignored, which we found very rude. We resend our request but still no answer. We asked for this small compensation because of the groceries but also because of a lot of other technical issues (see below). For instance, there was a very nice bath, but the plug was missing, so we could not use this facility, which we found an omission on the promised facilities. - Upon arrival we had to wipe a lot of the surfaces since they were not clean. We found bread or cake crumbs in a kitchen cabinet, a lot of dead flies in the windowsills. - A kitchen cabinet door was tilting, not closing properly, there qere multiple broken spoons, the kitchen inventory itself was very poor. For instance, there were just two small pans and a frying pan, there was no colander (=vergiet) and we could not really use the oven since there was no roasting pan. The dishwasher had a broken slide valve causing the dishwasher tablet to directly fall in the machine when you close it to run it. - The table lamp in the living room was not working, so we had to do with horrendously bright halogen spots from the ceiling in the evenings. - Some of the ceiling spots were blinking, chaning brightness or juist hanging loose from the ceiling. - The towel rack in the bathroom came down from the wall because of a missing screw. - The building turns out to be right next, and I mean right next, to a busy road. When heavy lorries pass, the floor slightly trembles. And it's noisy and at night the head lights of the vehicles shine against and past the roller blinds.

Die Lage war sehr schön. Die Kinder konnten im Fluss baden und man konnte gute Ausflüge machen. Dafür benötigt man aber in jedem Fall ein Auto.

Die Ausstattung war sehr schlecht. Dazu war es auch sehr schmutzig. Das Geschirr war verdreckt und auf dem Teppich waren Tierhaare. Viele Möbelstücke waren kaputt. Bei starkem Regen trat ein wenig Wasser durch die Decke im Flur ein. Nach zwei Nachfragen und Kontakt zu Booking haben wir einen Staubsauger bekommen, damit wir wenigstens die Tierhaare wegmachen konnten. Dann hat sich auch jemand das Dach angesehen.

Nous avons apprécié ces quelques jours passés dans ce grand et confortable appartement. Sa localisation était parfaite pour rayonner dans la région du Loch Lomond.

Spacious apartment, fair price, Drymen lovely village. Host responded prompt. Iron and ironboard a bonus.

We had some trouble finding it. Next to busy road, quite noisy. Not in the village of Drymen. Not enough crockery, glasses , mugs to start of with but found glasses and plates in a storage cupboard under the stairs, would have preferred them in the kitchen. Not enough mugs. No hairdryer.
