Gelber Löwe - Ferienwohnung in der Erfurter Altstadt

Eine relativ große Wohnung mit aussergewöhnlich geschmackvoller Einrichtung.Sehr zentral gelegen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Gastgeber sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Erik is a good host and was on hand to show us his great little apartment for our four night stay. He met us to hand over the keys show us around the apartment and provide some advice on local things. Excellent communication with him prior. The apartment is well located within the old town and near everything you will want to see and do. Plenty of space in the apartment with a nice, clean bathroom, good sized bed and a separate tv/sitting room. Tastefully decorated and reasonably secure although some tenants or residents don't lock the front door to the building.

The only negative is not the property itself but the venue opposite. The neighbouring restaurant/ bar is right opposite the bedroom window and it seems to attract a loud crowd who seem to like standing near the bedroom window to yell at each other. Midnight closing of the bar cuts the noise. Sat night it is open later. Sunday was very quiet ! Expect some noise if you stay here. We live in the middle of our city so we are used to some street noise and although the yelling was annoying while it lasted, the positives far outweigh the negatives and Erik is a good host.

Top location (3-min walk from Dom, 2 tram stops from Erfurt Hauptbahnhof). Check-in and communication with the owner was hassle-free and smooth. Apartment itself is tastefully (and originally) decorated. Easily sleeps a family of 4. Good kitchen though dining chairs not exactly comfortable but that's a minor point. We liked that you could buy locally-made honey and wine. Would be a 9 out 10 if it weren't for....

The apartment is situated next to a bar with tables outside while there's also a beer garden nearby. We were there at the height of the summer and, without exception, every single night of our stay we were kept awake by (presumably) drunken people until the early hours of the morning. It's such a disappointment because we felt immediately at home in the apartment but clearly the rooms' immediate exposure to the street noise, even with windows closed, posed a major issue that we had wished we had known about in advance. Maybe the situation improves outside high season but if you value getting more than a couple of hours of good sleep per night, then you may want to reconsider staying elsewhere.

This was a gem we stumbled upon. We wanted to explore a little of the "Luther Trail" on our way from Leipzig to Frankfurt by train. We took the tram from the railroad station and then walked a few blocks to the apartment. Erik the owner met us at the door and showed us around. Tremendous host and absolutely fabulous apartment and location. Could not be more pleased. Highly recommend this apartment and host. I rely heavily on the Booking.com ratings and these are spot on.

The host was amazing and very helpful upon checking in. The apartment is located in a wonderful location right next to the Christmas markets. The apartment was exceptionally clean and well equipped with almost everything we could need.

The flat is very centrally located with a very friendly, attentive, and responsive host. The flat itself met all expectations and was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place. Great experience for anyone coming to Erfurt.
