"Property suitable for a couple of people ideally."

7.0

Quiet rural location

‘L’ shaped sofa (bed), not very comfy . Shower very small and practically impossible to wash one’s legs - not really necessary to have a big double ended bath, as a bigger shower would make sense. Pre warning that guests using the sofa bed would have to go through the bedroom to access the toilet. No fire blanket or extinguisher in kitchen area despite there being a microwave and other electrical items. Dirt and cobwebs behind the bedroom chair, which again could be replaced with a small drawer unit. There were 3 of us living out of bags only one wardrobe and small bedside units. Nowhere for the sofa bed guest(s) to store anything. A few of £20 to ‘clean up after muddy paw prints), regardless of whether there were any, or not. Our dog is tiny, gets wiped upon entry at all times, left no prints, but just to make sure - I hoovered and mopped the floor myself

"We really loved our stay here and will return"

10.0

We stayed as a family of four—two adults, two children (11 and 14)—plus our hairless dog, and we couldn’t have been more impressed. After spending two nights in Yorkshire, this cottage completely exceeded our expectations. The location was ideal, the interior beautifully finished, and everything was spotlessly clean. The secure garden gave us peace of mind with the dog, and thoughtful touches like tea, coffee, and milk on arrival made us feel instantly welcome. As someone with severe allergies to pet fur, I usually struggle when staying in places that have hosted animals. But here, I didn’t experience a single symptom—not even a sniffle—which speaks volumes about the immaculate cleanliness. It was such a relief to be able to breathe easy and truly relax. This cottage is not only stunning, but clearly cared for with pride. It’s exceptional value and a real credit to the owners. We’re so glad we booked—it made our trip unforgettable.

There's nothing not to like about this place

My husband and I stayed in December for 2 nights with our 2 dogs. We had a wonderful time. The enclosed garden was great for our dogs and the log burner was lovely in the wintery weather. It was decorated for Christmas which was lovely. The location was brilliant for visiting Kendal and Windermere. We would love to stay again.

Perfect weekend away. Property was lovely and clean.

Password was incorrect for WiFi , it ended in 1 not 2 . Needs a fan for the kitchen as when cooking food the fire alarm pretty much went straight on. Price for cleaning fee should be specified in description with price as it was quite misleading with how much the cost would be as there set rate on the description just that fees may apply.

"Lovely to see the lakes a shame about the cold night and the hot water problems."

6.0

The location was nice, & the views.

The response from Victoria is something I really did not like… I messaged on the first night to inform her that the heating wasn’t working. Victoria did not reply until the second night at 10pm this reply was after I had to contact her a second time to inform her that the hot water had then gone off. She made out like it was simple and “just needed boosting” but the thermostat was locked and we could not do it our end. She manually did it her end and so the second night was warmer (late evening 10pm onwards). All I did was inform her on exiting that the chopping boards really smelt of onion and she took extreme offence and sent me a rude message back. I only wanted to let her know because I personally was offended by it and I did not want her to think I had used it and not washed it. She said I was the first to complain and she was rude to me. Albeit even if I was the first to complain I should have been far more annoyed about not having heating or hot water but Victoria homed in on the chopping board comment. Unfortunately I feel that her response spoke volumes. See photos taken from the final day which shows how the accommodation was left and you can also see the back garden in the bedroom photos. I left the property immaculate as I appreciated the stay. We did use the log fire burner, so I am not sure why this woman is trying to be so defensive. At the end of the day the simple fact is that this woman was vile and she clearly cannot deal with any form of constructive criticism.
