The Orchards

The cottage was outstanding. Lovely and clean. Had a problem with the tv and the host sorted it out straight away. The location is great too.

The mattress and pillows were too soft for my liking.

We really enjoyed the views, the space and decor of the cottage. The owners are lovely and there were plenty of complementaries. We really liked that there was access to WiFi and Netflix. Appreciated this being very dog friendly and accommodating.

The mattresses were very springy so was quite noisy but comfortable regardless. Shower was piping hot and changing the lever wouldn’t change the temperature. However, there is a bath as an alternative. Hadn’t realised when booking, the toilet is an en-suite so anyone staying on the sofa bed has to come through the bedroom to go toilet in the night.

I stayed at the lovely Orchards for 2 nights at the beginning of the week. Victoria was so helpful and understanding after some extremely difficult personal circumstances and nothing was too much trouble, she very kindly moved dates around and worked hard to accommodate my requests. The cottage was very clean, well appointed and ideally placed for buses (travelling without a car) into Kendal and from there the central Lakes. The complimentary cold items on arrival were also a very thoughtful and welcome touch. I would not hesitate to stay here again :)

Very well equipped with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Just a short drive into Kendal. Excellent value for money and would certainly recommend to others.

The orchards has everything you could possibly need. Including towels, coffee, tea and even a treat for our dog. The view was the best, very easy to find and convenient to visiting Kendal.
