The Orchards

Lovely little cottage. Everything you need for a relaxing break in the countryside. Only 10mins to Kendal town centre and a short drive to the lakes. Me and my partner and our 3 dogs loved our weekend break. Out in the sticks to avoid the weekend barrage of fireworks.

Bed was slightly hard for our liking and pillows a little flat.

Such a love little place to escape. Perfect setting and the views with sunrise/sunset in the background is just stunning.

Has everything you need for a nice getaway. Short drive to Windermere / Ambleside. The cows in the adjoining field made the stay even more special.

The Orchards was the perfect place to stay with my dog. We had the best time. It was very cosy and the highlight for me was having the secure garden. It was a really nice touch having little extras like milk and croissants! We went on all the local walks that the owner suggested - plenty of them within a 20 min drive and some straight from the doorstep! I also went to The Punchbowl Hotel for an evening meal, after a walk at The Helm, which was lovely and about a 20 minute walk.

Everything was great.

Upon making a last-minute reservation, we were pleasantly surprised when we received a call from the cottage owner within an hour, letting us know that the place was ready for us. The cottage itself was a delightful find. It was just perfect for two people and our furry friend. The interior was cozy and well-furnished, making us feel right at home. The cottage's proximity to the Lake District made it an ideal base for exploration, and we found ourselves exploring different trails and enjoying the tranquility of the countryside. After a day of (rainy) outdoor adventures, returning to our comfortable cottage was a joy. During our stay we encountered an issue with the toaster provided in the cottage. Without hesitation, we contacted the owner to inform them of the problem. They responded immediately and, within a short span of time, arrived at the cottage with another toaster in hand. What a great service! In summary, a charming cottage that exceeded our expectations in every way.

Really nothing to mention...

The bath!!! The property was just the right size for the four of us and Nuka the dog who was very calm in her new surroundings and it felt peaceful and just what we needed for two nights away.

Nothing of note. We knew from the reviews previously and the description of the property what to expect.
