Irilena "by Checkin"

A kind owner who allowed us to check in early and we are very grateful for that. We needed an apartment near the airport as we had an overnight flight and this apartment really met our expectations, we wish we had spent more time there. Close to a nice beach and there is also a swimming pool and a very nice yard. Inside, everything was clean. The beds were comfortable, wi-fi was good, and there were enough parking spaces in front of the apartment.

Location was good: close to a nice beach, groceries, bakery, restaurants. The property and pool were very nice and well kept--very attractive.

The air conditioning. We had to pay extra for the air conditioning (cash only!), and thus expected that it would be good. In fact, the people in the living room were cool enough only when those in the bedroom were so cold that they had to use two blankets each to be warm. The electricity. Even though we had paid extra for air conditioning, we were expected to turn off the electric, and thus the air conditioning, when we left the apartment. This meant that we had to return to a hot apartment. This was not the case in the apartments we had rented in Athens, where we could keep the air conditioning on even if we were not there. Cooking utensils were very basic. Also, a proper address was not given and it was very difficult to find directions to the apartment. Thank goodness for savvy young people who could find this information via the internet--NOT what was provided by Booking.

The swimming pool really well kept, salted water so i must say particular overall, the lady gave me immediately precise and correct infos about buses and supermakets and she was always available in case of Need. Pity that they are building right in front of the hotel were there was nothing before, so the view Is not so open anymore on the near beach but still good, the Crete Aquarium it's very nice to visit and i was lucky to stay so near we saw It twice included the VR

I can't say i would suggest someone else the Sea in this area , but the swimmingpool it's great and buses are avalable to reach other sites or to do tours downtown to visit museums and enjoy

The owner and her daughter were very kind. The pool is well kept and the area around the pool is very clean. 10 minute walk to bus stop to the airport or Malia. Also great bakery and small supermarket well stocked and reasonable prices.

The property, like so many along that section of coastline, are on the flight path for arrivals can be a little noisy. Also I did not find the bed very comfortable.

The host is very nice and was very helpful with everything we needed. The location is great and very close to good taverna and the sea. Highly recommended for a family with kids who can also andjoy the pool
