Bravissimo Força 17, Barri Vell apartments

Top floor, modern inside old building, lift all the way up, aircon, spacious and comfortable, the sound of bells, no street noise… yet straight out of the door onto the cobbles of old town, cathedral to the right, bike life to the left…. Amazing place!!

Minor niggles easily addressed with excellent Bravissimo office / staff

The fact that you could use your phone to open the doors. I loved the bed, the mattress was fantastic, also the bedding and the towels. The balcony is a wonderful addition. There are plenty of lights and sufficient storage place for your things, even if is a bit rudimentary. The bedroom is quiet, even though you are right in the middle of the city center (the living room is a bit noisier because the windows do not shut properly). The kids working at Bravissimo are also very nice and helpful.

The windows on the living room do not close well. The bathroom sink was constantly clogging. I did not like the soap they provided - solid soap but without a soap dish, so you had to plonk it on the sink furniture. Some liquid soap would have been a much better choice. The bathroom had no hangers for towels next to the sink, so you also had to plonk the hand towel on the sink furniture, where it would inevitably get wet. The shower towel hanger is in the worst place (next to the toilet). The bathroom is quite small and it has a bit of a smell, but not very bad. No salt in the house (which you usually get everywhere with no exceptions). No coffee either (most owners leave a few capsules, usually one per night) and, of course, no water either. The check in is also a bit late in the day - 4 PM, but I was allowed to go to the apartment one hour earlier.

Super communicative hosts, excellent location, spacious flat which even had a hose and space to clean a bike. Noise from the street was not an issue, despite being in the middle of things

Walls are a bit thin, could hear sounds from apartment above. Also the heater stopped working during our stay, although the hosts were very quick to send out a repair person.

Bravissimo Review We were booked for 8 nights right in the middle of Girona's Temps de Flors festival which created a vibrant atmosphere as the property is right in the middle of the historic district. Our 1st floor apartment (2nd level from street) was very spacious and clean with a complete set of quality appliances as described in Booking dot com. Most of the attractions were within one mile, and many within half a mile. Taxis are not allowed to drive through the street address so be ready to roll your bags uphill on a cobblestone pavement. Because of Temp de Flors, our walk with our heavy bags was even longer as the entire historic district was cordoned off to vehicles. There will be restrictions on pedestrian movement so if you plan to stay during Temp de Flors, do your research diligence. Water pressure was strong and shower was hot but hot water runs out rather quickly. So unless they fix this, be ready to space your shower use. Kitchen cabinets are also set high so hosts should consider a step up platform or small ladder. The heavy drapes need to be set up sturdier. When we checked in, one of the window drapes had fallen. Unfortunately these were not fixed during our stay. Our hosts however communicated with us promptly using WhatsApp. Also be forewarned that the apartment will not have any cleaning supplies like dish or washing detergent or any condiments, not even salt and pepper so be ready to bring what you need. There is a small Spar market less than half kilometer down. All in all the apartment was an excellent find for us in Girona.
