LEEWAYS APARTMENT in GRAN VÍA XIV

The location is wonderful. Metro station is near but we didn't use it because everything is 10-15 minute walk away. Apartmants is small and it was used for overnight accommodation because we spent 95% of our time outside.

Only minus is that there is no daylight iniside because ther is no balcony or windows that facing to the street. We had two internal shafts to which the windows from the bedroom, living room and bathroom were oriented, so we could see windows from other apartments.

Close to main attractions. Everything was walking distance.

The location is amazing and quite quiet. If your plan is to just sleep at the place and be out for the most of the time, the place is nice. The bed was also comfy.

The internet connection was terrible, I couldn't use much of my laptop, nor watch Netflix, or even just go through my social accounts. It was clear that the apartment is not receiving strong enough signal. When I asked about it, I heard it's a "touristic internet". Not sure what does it even mean. I had to use my cell service instead for anything. The washing machine turned out to be broken during my stay, and I was advised to use a local laundry shop and they would refund me it's cost (12 euro). I did that, sent a link to collect money, which never happened. The place's couch/kitchen table were not too comfortable, felt more decorative. By the end of my stay, I believe the guests from another apartment packed their trash into a bag and left it on the common corridor, that just stayed there for 2 or 3 days straight (it was still there when I was leaving).

The property is somehow ok but the service is awful

It took us 45 days to get an invoice. They would send many messages before you check in but they never replied when we were begging them for an invoice. I believes that this property is doing something illegal when it comes to taxes otherwise they would not decline so many request for an invoice. We missed the deadline to report our expenses and we paid our working trip from our pockets. This is one of the thousands examples where booking and the hotel don’t have a clear agreement.

The location was great, the accommodation was great. There was shower gel, plenty of toilet paper, washing up liquid, tea towel, an iron, Ironing board, plenty of hangers! (never get that anywhere!)

I found it difficult to check in late, the process wasn't simple and you had to pay £20 extra to have the key released in a key box. The staff were very helpful but they got my paper work mixed up and this made things more complicated as they were messaging just before i boarded my flight. The property was just off the main street but the street was dark and there were a few drunks lingering outside which made it a bit intimidating arriving late on my own. Also the windows all looked out into internal light wells a meter or so opposite other apartments so the rooms were dark. However I was out most of the time but it would have been nice to be able to see daylight.
