Charming 4 bedroom apartment in Chiado

Location was very good

Hosts were rude and aggressive. We found bed bugs on the property late at night. We could not reach the hosts. They did not reply to our emails until mid day the following day. They belittled our distress after finding the bed bugs going so far as to say they showed up out of the blue. We wanted to just leave the premises and they refused to reimburse us calling us liars, scammers and extortionists. They finally acknowledged there was a bed bug (after seeing photos and video) but maintained the others were ants. We told them bed bugs multiply quickly and their response was to change the linen in one bedroom. They were very rude and uncooperative. Also when we checked in we advised them that the electrical plug in the bathroom was not working. It was not fixed during our stay. We were a group of 8 and they left very little toilet paper. Even though we advised them they did not provide us with paper. The experience was nothing short of a nightmare.

The room in the far back of the apartment is very humid. There is a musty smell. Maybe it’s the lack of aeration in the adjacent bathroom. There are no proper groceries stores near the apartment.

Central location yet very quiet. Rooms are spacious. The building is on a one-way street and there is a no parking zone across the street for easy drop off/pick up. Great to have a washer and a dryer in the unit. Laundry tabs were provided.

Stairwell is fairly dark. There is a very small elevator. Response from the management company can be right away or they might not reply for several days. best to call them if you need anything. The kettle causes the fuse to blow…make sure you are not running heaters or washer/dryer while using the kettle. Reset panel is beside the door (best to get reset instructions when you check in). One of the bedrooms has a lockable door that leads to a hallway which we were told connects to the parking area. We were given instructions to dispose our garbage which was a block away (slight downhill to dispose and then slight uphill back to the apartment building).
