Chiado 4-Bedroom Flat

The location was great. The place was pretty quiet despite being in the middle of the action. Pretty comfy beds. Pretty clean.

There was no AC, only fans! With the sweltering summer heat in Lisbon, we were very hot and uncomfortable. Also there were issues with the water heater so some of our showers were extremely cold. There were lots of ants in the kitchen.

Great location. Near everything.

We had cold showers every morning due to boiler not working correctly. A staff member called by in the evening and fixed it. But the issue was that we would wake up the next day and the same issue would reappear. We were not shown how to reset the boiler and as a result the cold water was happening every day and needed fixing. There was very bad smell from one of the bedroom bathrooms. we needed keep the door closed. No proper air conditioning only plug in fan machines and we had keep them turned off during the night which made it difficult to sleep.

The location

We were especially searching for lodging in Chiado/Bairro Alto or Alfama with room for five us and enough sitting for us to relax together. The large living area was exceptional, with comfortable seating and great lighting and lovely decor. The neighborhood was super, easy to walk in interesting areas or catch an Uber. There was noticeable but not terrible traffic noise; we used our usual remedies for that. The hosts were very helpful and communicative, arranging for an early check in for us and a driver to pick us up from the airport. Kitchen was well equipped and everything was very clean.

The only serious negative was the mattresses, which were thin and hard to the point that it did affect our sleep quality. If the hosts invested in better mattresses, the rating would be 10/10. A small thing: it would be nice if there were some sort of hooks or towel racks for hanging wet bath towels (there were some places to hang them but not enough).

Location was amazing. Very specious and nicely decorated clean room. We were a party of 5 and plenty of space for everybody! The owner was VERY helpful.

Nothing. We would like to stay again when we come back to Lisbon.

Bathroom floors not clean, smelly drains, towel radiator rails dirty and corroded

Super location. Because of the super location it was noisy at night but in October we had the windows closed at night so no big deal. Might different in summer.

Although it’s a huge apartment - one room is en-suite and the other bathroom is shared among the three bedrooms. The shower in that bathroom could be improved. A bigger coffee pot and a better coffee machine would be an improvement. The kettle leaked. We passed this on to the owners who said they’d have addressed these issues if they’d known about it sooner. I appreciate that.
