River View Apartment Belém - AC by Lisbeyond

The location was convenient for me while attending a nearby conference. The apartment was nice looking and had a good view.

The horrendous smell of the bathroom drains made the stay unbearable. The whole house constantly smelled like sewage. The smell was so strong inside the shower that I was unable to shower (nearly vomited when I tried) for the first night until someone came to put some chemicals down the drain. From then on, it was still awful but slightly more manageable. The towels were also not clean and had other people's hairs and stains on them. The bed area is so close to the walls on both sides that you need to climb in and out from the bottom of the bed. It also makes a very loud sound every time you move. It would not be suitable for a couple. But most importantly, bare minimum hygiene was not met.

Nice apartment next to the center of Belem.

The young lady from Lisbeyond was very polite and professional and very helpfull. I had read about the climb to the 4th floor so was as ready as I could be for the ascent. The apartment was small'ish but had everything and the key essentials were there and all worked very well. The views were great too - especially sunset.

Given the nature of the building the steps are inevitable so you cannot improve that - the layout of the apartment effectively uses all the available room - so make sure you know about the apartment's limitations before you commit to a booking - if you know this and go ahead then you will not be disappointed

The apartment was very nice and generally clean, with a beautiful view. It was in a good position in relation to my needs for the staying. It looked like it could become very hot during the day but the air conditioning worked perfectly fine and I was not there during the day anyway.

My only issue was with some mold inside the shower. Also, the persons came to clean the room before the check-in time.

Lovely fresh decor, everything you need (particularly appreciated the washing machine, proper oven and full size fridge, hairdryer, ironing board), great location. It was mostly very clean. Great views of the river and city. No neighbour or significant street noise. Felt like a comfortable place to retreat to after a busy day. The agency is responsive to any requests, if it is something they can help with.

Main issue was very loud clanging of roof flashing on the tiles whenever it was windy (which was very often). This room is right under the roof and this was very disturbing during the day if you wanted window open, but particularly at night; I had very little sleep for several nights until I bought ear plugs. It also took a while to work out what it was, which was disconcerting as a single female traveller. I thought it might be the front door of the building banging, as this is also an issue with the building: the front door lock does not actually close so anyone can easily push the door open and get in. Each apartment is locked individually but this is still a security risk. The agency is aware and is trying to get this sorted out. Apartment felt clean though shower could do with a good deep clean. Attention to detail by housekeeping could be improved, e.g. toilet seat moves around, shower grout needs a scrub, bedside tables are half hanging off, only one wineglass provided (though agency kindly dropped off several more on simple request). The agency provides a few coffee pods and tea bags and essentials such as washing up liquid and sponge, but it would be nice to also have a tea towel as there was nothing to dry dishes with, and even better a few basics such as oil, salt/pepper and vinegar? Finally, bear in mind this is under the eaves so does require some stooping to avoid banging your head in some areas, and on the 4th floor, the stairs are quite narrow and windy so can be difficult to get a large suitcase up there.

The location is great. It took us literally 5 minutes walk to all the amenities nearby as well as the train station. Super close to the river/sea - and we could see it from either side of the flat!

Nothing really to complain about. But maybe a bit more toiletories/towels would be great - we stayed for 8 nights so it wasn't quite enough towards the end.

Awesome view and prime location, perfect for a quick getaway.

The linens and towels were visibly soiled and in disrepair.

Check in was horrible - first they wanted an additional fee for late check in. Then I moved check in to an earlier time and then had to wait for an hour in front of the closed door. Also you have to do a separate online check in on another Plattform (not on booking.com but still mandatory - also they say it is to get the check in pin - which obviously was not the case). Would never book through them again.

The apartment is super cute and well appointed with everything I needed for my stay. It was a great, modern, comfortable place to come home to at the end of the day and I thoroughly enjoyed my five night stay. Lastly, for a small place, it truly has amazing views from both sides and easy access to the waterfront walking/biking paths and bus routes.

Because it’s on the top floor there are gabled roofs with beams in both the living room and bedroom so you just need to be mindful when moving around, I thought I had been but still managed to crack my head pretty hard when making the bed. it was up four flights of stairs which was fine for me but might not work for everyone.
