Bathroom(sevage smell), loud neighbours-did not sleep almost at all, no air conditionier. Last minute deposit.

Good location with access to anything you need.

There is a short notice on deposit and city tax. They charge the deposit through a third party service. Owners claim that the charge should never process but for me specifically it did process and post to my credit card statement. Slow responses and no refund of deposit despite no claims of damage or other issues. Upon arrival, security box to collect key was not set up properly. Took an hour for property owners to send someone to let us into room. After gaining access, it was clear the room had not been cleaned as trash was present and the sheets taken off the bed. Took another couple of hours for owners to have cleaning crew come to location and clean room. Bathroom has a strong smell in the room. Of the locations I have stayed at, this is by far my least favorite. I attached some photos of the property on arrival for reference.

The location was close to the centre and main attractions. Quiet neighbourhood. Close to cafes and restaurants. Tram 28 line is a few steps away. Well equipped with cooking and washing machines. Not enough dishes so we have to run dishwasher after every meal.

Very small for a family of four. Very steep small stairs which is challenging for people with mobility issues or if you have heavy suitcases to take up. No AC so very hot in summer. Toilet has strong sewerage smell. There is no fan or ventilation in the bathroom. We can hear the neighbours especially at night. Third party apartment managers very slow and non responsive with requests.

Well equipped apartment, small but more than adequate

When we arrived at the agreed 4pm check in time the apartment wasn't ready, the cleaner was there. We were initially asked to leave again and return at 6pm. We compromised and left for about 30 mins. There was also poor communication with the local agent. There were emailing us via booking.com and were not getting our replies

The stench from sewers even after some efforts by the owner did not eliminate the smell totally. Sometimes I woke up in the night from the horrible smell from the bathroom. No perfect vacations situation. The host never pick ups the phone. Only chats, where the responses are after several hours. the way the host enforced the payment of the city tax and the deposit (no possibility to pay in cash on-spot or by card) means that they do not send the code to the appartment before recieving the payment by cash transfers. The demand is sent in a very short notice the same day as check-in, so in fact no way to arrange it differently than is expected by the host. 100% host's comfort and security, but not the clients'. BTW - the payment details was not written on the booking page, wich is an abusive behaviour in my opinion, I'd have never booked if I knew before. In the CTRL+C/CTRL+V messages that the host sends they say that it is the option of the remote check-in, but it is not.

the sewage stench in the whole appartment from the bathroom. wrong outflow installed in shower. contacted the staff - apparently old buildings in Lisbon have it. It’s my 5th visit to Lisbon, and the first with this experience. I was not happy when the staff requested a deposit transfer as cash to a private person via PayPal, finally after intervention of Booking was possible to use a card remotely. each time when I called on the phone- no response, but apparently it was a low staff season. otherwise Ok.
