Just location

Old apartment, the floor squeaks, there is mold in the shower and in the sink. It was not cleaned at all, black hair was everywhere. It's strange because we paid an extra 68 Euros for a cleaning service that wasn't there at all. The towels are old, with signs of old dirt. After I wrote that it was dirty, no one responded to my request to clean it up. Do not stay even for one night. I don't recommend it.

The host and cleaning staff were great. Very helpful. Great location. The apartment has everything.

- the location - from 5 to 25 mins walking distance till all main attractions - apartment equipment - there was all one can need for a comfortable stay within a week

- check-in: 1) we couldn't open the safe box with the code we received, so we had to call the host, but she couldn't help either. It was already late and we were tired after the flight. Thanks to a passer-by who helped us to open that apparently broken box, we could come in. 2) We had to call the host again regarding the internet connection in the apartment - there were no instructions about that. → If you use the self-check-in concept, make sure it works smoothly. - dirtiness: 1) the apartment looked at our arrival like it wasn't cleaned after the previous tourists> there was a bunch of someone's hair in the bathroom drain, mold in the shower, dust on the floor, etc. 2) even though the bed sheets looked clean enough, we were bitten by bedbugs (!). You can see my hand on the pic after a few nights - the rest of the body looked even worse. - furniture: there was no wardrobe, just a few open shelves for clothes

Location is interesting

I ended up with many bites probably from the bed bugs in the sofa, from which i got many spots of severe allergy.

The location was excellent, very close to other great areas, bars and restaurants. Communication with the owner was very good, we had sheets and towels changed weekly as we spent a month there.

Bathroom location is weird being next to the kitchen, and sink very small.

Needs disinfestation, a lot of cockroaches! Needs proper cleaning! Also, a lot of noise coming from children from other rooms which I found totally disrespectful.

Positioned in the heart of Barrio Alto and super easy access to everything. Apartment is cute, quirky and has everything you need. If you want a tranquil place to rest your head this probably isn't it, but thankfully the double glazing works a treat. Host was very responsive, and self check in was very handy. Washing machine was a bonus and we were very grateful for the little extras like the washing powder, coffee and shower gel etc. Layout it unexpected, e.g.the bathroom door is a frosted sliding panel, ( kind of see-through) whilst the sink to brush your teeth is in the kitchen, but for us; it added to the rustic charm.

Unfortunately there was a really horrid smell coming from the drains in the toilet and it filtered in to the rest of the apartment. Our host offered to send in the cleaner to try to resolve it but we left it until the penultimate day to say anything, so this was our fault not theirs. Definitely need to keep windows shut at night in order to block out the noise, but this didn't help with trying to keep the place ventilated (because of the smell).
