Apartments in the Castle of S Jorge

The location of the apartment is absolutely amazing, next to Castelo within a tiny Alfama street. An absolutely cozy bar for breakfast (and an amazing dragonfruit cocktail!) a few steps away and peacocks in the morning. The apartment was small, but offered all necessary amenities - equipment for cooking yourself, a washing machine, a TV, and a shower with soap and shampoo. As I didn´t book a **** hotel, it was clear to me that I should not expect a spa like bathroom with a big bathtub. The shower was absolutely fine (especially the water pressure can be a challenge in some other Lisbon accomodations), and wie really enjoyed our stay in this gem. Silvia was absolutely kind, friendly and service orientated and a great help, she and Joao are very kind and supportive hosts.

Loved everything

We were travelling with an infant and found our stay at the accommodation and Lisbon in general very baby-friendly. Prior to our stay, we requested an early check-in and our host (Silvia) promptly organised everything to allow us an early check-in. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and had everything we need for a four day stay. Whenever we had any queries regarding the accommodation and information on Lisbon, Silvia's response was immediate and always helpful. She was the friendliest and most attentive host. This enabled us to experience a lovely holiday in Lisbon.

Location was close to downtown center of Lisbon but required walking uphill 15 min if you don’t want to wait for bus.

Queen bed was soft of side closest to door and springs were squeaky and noisy every time you moved on that side of the bed. Had to stay on right side of bed to prevent noise from bothering my sleep and it was also firmer on that side. Suggest bed needs to be replaced. Also recommend instructions on how to use washer on a quick cycle as we did not expect wash to take so long.

Location of the apartment was the best, just next to St Jorge castle. We even got to see peacocks wandering around early in the morning before our departure! :) In the day you are really in a hotspot and you feel the atmosphere of Alfama district, in the night is really quiet, perfect for resting... In 10-15 minutes going downhill you're in the center. Hosts were great (specially Silvia that we met) - from booking to our arrival, they were really helpful... The apartment is small but it has everything you might need... Overall we are really satisfied with our accommodation and would recommend it to others.

It's not unusual in the old towns that the mold occurs. Sometimes the air in the apartment was stuffy nevertheless dehumidifier working all the time.

It is a small, sweet apartment, which is located 5 minutes away from Castelo São Jorge - so right in the middle of the historic old town. Silvia is a very helpful, understanding and polite operator. She picked us up from the airport for 25 euros and brought us back for the same price. There are two separate rooms in the apartment, one with a double bed and the other with a bunk bed. In the kitchen there is a gas stove and other utensils sufficient to be self-sufficient. However, we always had breakfast at Lodu's which is not even 1 minute away. The breakfast tastes very good here. The accommodation has an inside terrace. There is nothing to complain about and is a clear recommendation. Thank you very much! P.S: As a welcome, there was a delicious red wine and a typical Portuguese liqueur.

Good location. It has the appliances and utensils etc that you will need.

Lack of good ventilation, so cupboards are musty. Rough cobblestones make bringing suitcases up the hill a challenge.

Great host and greeter! They both were in constant contact with me before and after we arrived. They were very helpful in providing information we needed during our stay in Lisbon. The apartment was clean and had all the amenities needed to make the stay comfortable! I really enjoyed the small terrace. It was like a small oasis away from the busy crowds visiting the castle!

The location is next to the S Jorge castle. So be prepared to walk up the hill during your stay. Make sure to wear good walking shoes especially when there is rain because the cobblestones are quite slick when wet!

Communication was excellent from Joao and Silvia. Silvia met us from the airport and gave us lots of information about local facilities, transportation and restaurants and places to visit. The apartment is in a fantastic location to access all areas of Lisbon. Ludo's is a 2 minute walk for a delicious breakfast. The bedroom was comfortable and had storage for 2. Joao had thought of details such as a welcome drink of Port and Wine and coffee.. There us everything in the kitchen required for cooking. However, we ate out each day.

My only criticism is the air conditioning unit didn't keep the whole place cool ... maybe we didn't use it properly.
