NEW. Moderno y elegante apartamento céntrico.

Excellent appartment, close to the metro station, supermarkets, café and local restaurants. 10-15 minutes with metro to the Madrid center. In the appartment we had everything we need, even that, our host was put a welcome compliment cookies and juice in the fridge. The appartment was newly painted and everything was good and very clean. The communication with the host was excellent. I recommend.

Apartment has everything what 2 people would need. From coffee and milk to iron, hair dryer, washing machine etc. Location is literally 1 minute away from Lidl and Metro as well. Host is very responsive and we got answers to all questions that we had in the matter of minutes :)

It gets a bit loud at night, it's not soundproofed and you are staying in the "hood". It is not dangerous but there is a lot of junkies and weird looking people around.

Poor communication before we arrived. Mysteriously messaging on booking.com died and after lots of frantic emails we finally got an answer. This included a request not to ring as the person with the phone was not available. On getting into the apartment it became obvious that this was a tired old apartment which is mid way through a refurbishment which is not yet finished. Walls were marked and stained. The sofa was dirty and marked. Crockery poor. Then the lumpy hard bed with one pillow . Very much echos of Prisoner Cell Block H . The worst bit though as that the hearing system really didn't work. In asking for help we just got rude emails back and despite following to the letter what was said multiple times it did not work. The fire worked for about 5 mins before shutting itself down

A bit far from down town, public transportation is not convenient in Mardi. Spent time and money to sightseeing in the city

The people seemed friendly and hospitable but never had any interaction with the owners. The location is great (nowhere near the centre) and is an authentic, multicultural barrio with great bars and restaurants. The local football stadium is a ten minute walk. Rayo Vallecano is worth visiting if they happen to be at home.

It looks far better in the pictures! As another reviewer has suggested, for the sake of a little money the apartment could look SO much more appealing. A lick of paint, some prints or pictures, a couple of plants. It's very dreary and the broken toilet seat and dodgy wi-fi don't help - though the small bathroom is quite modern. For the price ( even with a "discount") it is not good value.
