The people and the apartment, not clean at all.

Location

This tiny apartment is extremely damp. The smell of dampness hits you as soon as you walk in and you need to keep all windows opened all the time. Very unpleasant to stay there. Communicated it to the host but my complaint went ignored. The building needs a full renovation. The neighbors don’t seem too happy to see tourists in this property either. Definitely not value for money. They kept asking me to register for the Spanish authorities even though I had done it already. The remote mobile device door access didn’t work either.

Very newly renovated apartment in a practical area close to one of main station. Staff is helpful via messages. The building is quite silent and not too noisy.

The apartment is located close to Atocha, but you have to collect the keys in another part of the City (not very close) and you get this info, just after the booking. So, you need to read very careful the long message from the company. I guess it is fair to mention the key topic, before the booking, somewhere. In fact we arrived at Atocha, and due to time and luggages, we had to take a taxi to go and collect the keys, in Laviapies area. It is not super practical as system, I must say, the customer should be facilitated with a key box closer to the apartment.

Having to go to a different location to collect the keys. If you don’t have a vehicle the lock box was a bit far from the apartment.

The apartment itself was nice inside. It was fully modernized with two small rooms, a fantastic shower, a kitchen, and air conditioning. It was adequate. The proximity to Museo Reina Sofia was why I booked this place, and it was nice to be so close to the back entrance to the museo.

I guess I missed the part about the key box when I booked. I specifically booked at Atocha because we were coming in on the train with two small kids. Hauling our luggage across town on the metro at peak hours with our kids to pick up the keys was the worst travel experience of my life. We couldn’t get a cab without car seats, so it was metro plus walking to the lockbox.
