Apartment Pangea

Very spacious, clean , comfortable

This apartment was huge, with plenty of space for our group of six, including 2 bathrooms, each with three shower cubicles! The expansive terrace was also a great place to relax and watch the sunset (although we were too busy sightseeing to make much use of it). The location is only a short walk to the old town, and a taxi to/from the bus/train station should be less than 10 marks. The hosts were really communicative and helpful, giving us recommendations for local restaurants, calling taxis for us and making arrangements for us to change our remaining marks for euros as we were leaving for Croatia.

The floors were a bit sticky - perhaps too much cleaning product used or not rinsed off? The kitchen was lacking a tea towel, so we had to use one of the bath towels. As other reviewers have mentioned, the beds were not that comfortable and the sheets were pilled and scratchy. Some quality linen and new mattresses (even a mattress topper or thin layer of sponge) would go a long way to improving the guest experience. Likewise, a few bedside lamps, some nicer furniture and a more conventional colour scheme would be all it would take to transform this functional apartment into a heritage boutique stay! For now, those travelling in a group can enjoy the boutique space and location on a backpacker budget.

Loved the distance from the old town. The hosts of the apartment communicated very well with us, recommended lots of places and taxi drivers. Very happy with the hosts.

Few pickpockets around the area. We encountered this twice on our road. The neighbours in the apartment were quite aggressive and rude on time when I buzzed his apartment to allow me into the building as I left my phone and key in my apartment it was 3pm, and felt racist to me and my family. If there was a sign that said our apartment's name on the buzzer then I could have buzzed the right apartment.

beds could have been more comfortable

This flat is just stunning - high ceilings, airy, beautiful views, and a roof terrace! It's very spacious and simply beautiful. Our hosts were very kind, they allowed us to store our luggage at another accommodation of theirs in the next day, since we were only leaving in the evening.
